Michael East - Auckland Gynaecologist

Amazing doctor, very knowledgeable and provides outstanding detail and depth when explaining what's happening to me and why it's happening. Usually I get confused when doctors often explain as they do not make the effort to explain in a way that clients (who do not know much about medical stuff) can understand, however with Michael east - he did that wonderfully. Thank you so much. The receptionist Linda was also very kind and knowledgable about many medical stuff too and she made sure before I left that I wasn't confused on anything. Thank you Linda and Michael 🙂

This feedback is about the reception. I did not progress to see Michael East because of the behaviour and tone conveyed to me while enquiring about an appointment. I chose to contact via the methods promoted on the website to find out 1, The cost of an initial consult, and 2, How long that consult would be. I was in pain and severely impacted by the temporary loss of function in my right (dominant hand) among other health problems. I chose to send through the two questions via email. They refused to give me this information and kept pushing me to make an appt by calling them even thought at that stage I never said I wanted an appt. They were blunt, condescending in tone, and rude.I explained why I didn’t want to call, which was the reasons above and that I wanted the info to decide if I wanted an appt. The issue went back and forth resulting in them often saying they "were too busy to send a reply to me by email." Which I find a completely strange and an unusual argument especially when I had given valid reason why, which I shouldnt even have to do. From my experience they did not match the standard of service compared to other private clinics. Based on the behaviour of the interaction I did not choose to go any further. On a more personal note, when you are exhausted and in pain coming across these types of people who are in key positions of communication with patients, patients who are often very unwell and have been for a long time, it can be extremely detrimental to your health and ability to advocate for yourself when you behave this way to patients. I have received the best care and customer service from Dr. East and his amazing practice manager Linda. I'm grateful that I finally found someone who took my concerns to heart and made sure I got the treatment I deserved.

Great as always. Linda was with my former specialist Dr Liddell and is now with Dr East. Both are amazing, great customer service and always as helpful as can be. Dr East also has a great bedside manner.

The receptionist is absolutely horrible. I asked my gp to send a referral letter for insurance to their office, and when I then emailed the Michael East receptionist asking for a copy of this referral, she refused to give it to me. I then called at a later date to again try get it sent to me, and from the receptionist I received a snobby, condescending attitude, and she yet again refused to send me the referral from my gp, saying she couldn’t understand why I was wasting her time asking for it when I can get it from my gp who sent it instead. Disgusting attitude. Would never recommend this place to anyone EVER.

Such a great team Michael and Linda. They have both been wonderful with my Autistic teen the last few years
