Budget Taxis - Auckland's Most Affordable And Reliable Taxi Service

My rating is below one star, it was terrible experience - I booked two rides for my parents more than 24 hours before the rides. The driver was over 20 minutes late for the pick up, and when I checked with him about the return ride, he said I need to cancel the second ride because they can’t provide service after 5pm. I called the company and was told they would not have drivers available after 4:30pm. If I didn’t checked with them, my parents would end up waiting for the return ride. Also the payment system is a mess, I registered online and top up the balance in order to pay everything before the ride, however the driver said my parents need to pay at the destination by CASH; and ask me to contact the company for a refund!!

Just got charged $50 for a 5min drive from the airport. Of course I was lied to beforehand about the cost. Will be attempting to do a chargeback Avoid at all costs!

I booked their services online, hoping for a convenient and reliable ride. Unfortunately, that was far from the reality of what I experienced. To begin with, the booking process seemed smooth, and I received a confirmation email with the details of my reservation. However, the ordeal started when the designated pick-up time came and went without any sign of the taxi. There was no way to reach the driver as the phone number provided in the confirmation email turned out to be non-existent. I tried multiple times, but each attempt was met with the same frustrating silence. Feeling stranded and helpless, I resorted to the online support chat provided by Budget Taxi. To my dismay, the chat feature was down, rendering me unable to get any assistance or updates on my ride. At this point, I was on the verge of panic, especially since I had an important appointment to attend. Time dragged on, and I was left standing at the pickup location, with no idea when or if the taxi would ever show up. The lack of communication and the complete absence of customer service was appalling. It seemed as if Budget Taxi had completely abandoned their responsibilities, leaving their customers in the lurch. After what felt like an eternity, I decided to cancel my booking and find an alternative mode of transportation. This whole experience left me stressed, frustrated, and disappointed with Budget Taxi's abysmal service. In conclusion, I cannot emphasize enough how imperative it is to avoid Budget Taxi. Their lack of professionalism, unresponsive customer support, and failure to honor bookings are utterly unacceptable. This has been, without a doubt, the worst taxi service experience I've ever encountered. Save yourself the trouble and opt for a more reliable and reputable taxi service instead.

Booked over the phone 2 weeks in advance. Just received a call two days later confirming pick up today at 11:30? I then looked at reviews and thought it best to cancel booking and go with someone else. Thank you everyone who have reviewed this business. It has helped us maybe avoid being stuck in the middle of nowhere with two toddlers.

Drivers in their company can't drive at all, suddenly change lanes on very crowded roads, and even abuse them. Strongly condemn such companies and drivers. I don't know how they got their driver's license and company permission. It's disgusting!

All other taxis to the airport were booked but I should have read the reviews before I booked. After reading the reviews I can obviously call myself lucky that the driver did turn up. Called several times and was assured he was on his way, he even sent me a mail and phoned me just before arriving 45 min late. In a shabby car, not sure it even had official taxi credits. Blamed it on red traffic lights. No apology or anything. Still wanted the full fare and wouldn’t budge. Customer service non existent. Do not book!

I had an Uber booked and I was waiting on the side of the road waiting for it. I was approached by a Sure taxi driver asking if myself and my friend wanted a ride. We declined as we had already booked an Uber but he said there was no point as it wouldn’t be able to get to us as the roads were blocked due to the event we had just been at. Feeling very cold, a bit incoherent and ready for home, we decided to cancel the Uber to go in the taxi. The 10 minute drive cost just over $60 which I thought was a bit steep but was just glad to get home. The driver kept asking how I was going to pay during the drive which I found slightly strange. When we arrived, I used my phone payWave to pay but it declined when I definitely had money in my account. The taxi driver asked to see how much money was in my account, which I showed him to prove I can pay the fare. He asked me to try it again, which this time it did work. We went inside and it was after he had left that I checked my phone and the taxi fare had cost me just under $100 despite the fact it definitely had only been just over $60 on the taximeter. I’m so disgusted that this man thought it was ok to steal off 2 young women. He had creepy vibes from the moment he approached us, I should have gone with my gut and stayed with Uber. I wouldn’t even rate these guys 1 star after this experience.
