Did a practice restricted test today to prepare for my test later this month. Alan was very friendly and professional. He gave easy to follow and clear instructions, as well as valuable feedback. 10/10 experience, would recommend!

I always use this station for WoF as they are independent and have no financial incentive to fail your car. I've only had 1 misdiagnosed failure here, which then flew through re-inspecrion later. It's generally busy here at any time.

Being an oldie I did not want to have a long wait to get my driver's license renewed. Following a phone call to be told they were quite busy and to leave it for around 30 mins, I turned up. There was just one person in front of me and everything went smoothly. The Asian gentleman dealing with licenses was super helpful, very pleasant and delivered his excellent customer service with a warm smile. This place has good systems with different counters for different needs, which is a huge help. Full marks to this branch of the AA.

RE INSPECTION REORT 1988395 (If the manager wishes to check) I previously gave them 5 stars but this place has changed and not for the better!! I've had my boat trailer failed for surface rust (the last time). The trailer guy in Whitford said he should never have failed it for such minor surface rust where the galvanized paint had worn ie. Not structural. I spent $350 for the trailer guy to sand it and paint on some galvanized paint. WOF time again and I got the same inspector. He stated my left wheel bearing was a bit 'noisy' so failed it. I thought fair enough. He also wrote in THE COMMENTS surface rust rear frame (where he FAILED me before.... and the same place). Again just where the paint had worn and not structual. So what is the difference between now and the previous WOF? I get home jack up the boat and turn the wheel, noisy my arse. It was smooth as smooth. No grating etc that you find if salt water gets in there. The grease was uncontaminated and normal colour. This inspector couldn't diagnose a noisy bearing to save himself!! SO WHY DID HE FAIL ME? I replaced the bearing even though there was nothing wrong with the present ones. I just wanted to compare the smoothness. Sure enough there was NO difference between the bearings. Took the boat down today and got my warrant through a different inspector. Told him that there was no difference between these bearings and the last ones and show him the bearings I had taken out. I have been changing these wheel bearings for the past 15yrs so I know what I'm talking about. Also said I didn't think the other inspector was very good!! He looked at the report as to who the inspector. Said he would see the manager. I always get a warrant and I expect to be failed for stuff that is serious. Wheel bearing comes within that category but when there is nothing wrong with the bearing I have to ask, is this inspector competent? Did he fail me just for the sake of failing me? Surface rust is not structural, a wire brush and some galv paint fixes it. This guy just wasted my time because he could, in my humble opinion. Officious, probably. Please note on the inspection form he initially passed me then failed me. Happy to be failed for stuff that needs fixing not for NOTHING.

Waited 30 mins in line to renew my license then was turned away just so the bloke could go off and have his lunch. Absolute rubbish service. Definitely avoid this place and they should not be in business

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from these people. Steer clear from this place unless you want to be lied to and have your time wasted.
Failed my WOF saying my rear taillights were not compliant, no other reason given.
I just bought the car under a year ago so went back to the dealer who told me to go ask for a reason it was not compliant. So I went back to the AA and the inspector got his manager Graham out, initially he didn't know why the lights didn't comply either, then told me the lights failed because they are not "standard".
Went back to the dealer with this info. Both the dealer and I called NZTA with this information. NZTA told us that was not a thing, no where in the VIRM does it say that lights have to be standard.
NZTA sent me back to this AA and asked them to show me where in the VIRM does it say that lights have to be standard.
They then passed my WOF all while gaslighting me adamant that I had changed my lights, when I had not.
Wasted days of my time going back and forth all based on a lie. Not okay!
