Winter Garden is a truly fabulous experience, offering a diverse array of gorgeous flowers, including varieties I'd never seen before, all set within a stunning environment. It's a peaceful, natural haven perfect for leisurely strolls, where you can fully appreciate the beauty of each scene. The expansive grounds invite exploration, with discoveries like historical statues adding to the charm. And if hunger strikes, a convenient restaurant is just a short walk away, no car needed! I hope they'll add frogs to the water lily pond and butterflies to the plants, further enhancing the natural beauty and making this place even more enchanting.

Café right opposite, expensive for meals but good for a small bakery goods and good raw juice, good Customer Service.
There’s like a Narnia type hidden forest walkway situation going on inside.

Located right next to the Auckland War Memorial Museum, the Auckland Domain Wintergardens is a delightful and peaceful escape filled with stunning greenery. After exploring the history and exhibits at the museum, stepping into the glasshouses felt like entering a serene oasis.
The Wintergardens feature two beautifully designed glasshouses — one for tropical plants and the other for temperate flora. Both were captivating with vibrant flowers, towering ferns, and unique plant species. The courtyard in between, decorated with elegant marble statues, added a timeless charm.
What made the visit even more special was the convenient location near the War Memorial Museum. It’s easy to explore both attractions in one day, making it a perfect blend of culture, history, and nature. I highly recommend visiting the Wintergardens as a relaxing complement to the museum experience.

It's a delightful sanctuary located at the heart of Auckland. Whilst it's premises aren't big by any sense of the imagination, the vast biodiversity on display perfectly complements the tranquility of it's surroundings to offer the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. To add on, although the climb up from the campus of the University of Auckland may be a little tiring, you'd also get to see some pretty interesting nature along the way. Definitely do drop by if you're in the area!

Cool place! I mean- no, it's actually quite hot. Anyway, the plants are very beautiful! Great for taking photos of them. The dog loved it. She got heaps of attention from the other people there. Probably because she is so cute and fluffy!

The Winter Garden in Auckland is a beautiful and tranquil spot, perfect for a peaceful stroll. Located in the Auckland Domain, it features two stunning glasshouses—one filled with lush tropical plants and the other showcasing seasonal flowers. The surrounding courtyard and fernery add to the charm, creating a relaxing escape from the city.
The historic glasshouses have elegant, vintage-style architecture with high arched ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of light. The garden is open daily from 9 AM to 4:30 PM, making it easy to visit year-round. Whether you love plants or just want a quiet place to unwind, it’s a must-see in Auckland.
