I had a great experience at the Architectural Software holiday program in TsingMei Art Studio in the City, as I learnt SketchUp Pro and V-Ray. In the 5 day program, we learnt how to use plug-ins on SketchUp Pro, which was essential as it speeds up the modelling process, and we learnt how to professionally render, bringing our designs to life. I believe that this will be incredibly helpful for me in the future when I go off to university. I definitely recommend this program to those planning to study Architecture in the future.

Thanks for a great Pottery for Beginners course with Jino. So enjoyable that I’ve rebooked for the next term! Jino is very talented and a great tutor, and the class of six is an easy mix. Delighted.

Attended the beginners’ pottery class for five lessons and it was a lovely experience. Our teacher explained as best as he could and he also has an amazing background with pottery. He helped out with my almost disastrous looking pottery but I managed to make a few that looked alright. The wait for firing the pottery wasnt too long either around 5 days. Will definitely think about attending other classes or continuing practicing pottery.

Caught me by surprise at how convenient and diverse this place was.

We were attending a church service but were also captivated at how much was going on.

We stayed longer to ponder, read and look at the art displayed.

The children definitely enjoyed the outdoors and enjoyed climbing trees, discovering a surprise pond.

My 9-year-old daughter thoroughly enjoyed the Drawing & Sketching class (Tue 3:45-5:15) with Maree. Learning to depict objects with pencil sketching added a technical dimension to her artistic skills. It was a great class for a 9-year-old who loves drawing, providing more advanced content rather than simplistic children’s drawings.
This class is highly recommended for kids who love drawing and want to boost their skills.

Huge thanks to the awesome team at Art in Bloom Academy for adding fun & creativity to our work event!! My group had a total blast with Shannon – she was an awesome teacher & very patient with our rowdy crowd (Note: she had to manage 23 of us all at once – no easy task!)!! Although the art piece we chose to paint was quite difficult for the time slot available, Shannon kept us moving along & in the end we all had a decent painting to take home! Rowena was also lovely to work with and made the whole planning process smooth & stress-free . Highly recommend Art in Bloom as part of your next event!!

If you want to give clay a go – don’t walk, run to book. Even if you want to just try it out or have a project in mind. It will be so rewarding.

Honestly a superb experience. I really fell in love with clay because of those classes.

My tutors were Sophia (whom I can’t praise enough for her detail oriented approach and clear instructions, perfect for beginners like me), Iza (who was so, so helpful and kind and had some amazing solutions to problems I’ve encountered, always ready to help) and Cat (whose creative approaches will yet again change your approach (for the better)). All of them were amazing and honestly made it so rewarding and fun for me.

I have now booked a third (!) course with them and have two sets of my own pieces that I can’t stop admiring.

Can’t wait! 🙂 thank you so much!

Pretty expensive classes per session compared to other places I’ve been to (which range from like $30 per class). Did the 5 weeks beginner level 1 and you get 4 pieces included into the fee ($245pp+$25 fee). 2 nights of making, 2 nights of trimming (maybe making if you have time), 1 night of glazing.

But really nice spot and teachers! Enjoyed Strahan and Cats attempts to ease us beginners into playing with it and not be perfectionists. Very lovely calming time with them, felt I could get help despite the class of ~16 people

Decent parking in the evening.

Loving 3 out of 4 of my final pieces!

Would go back

Went to a 4 night wheel taster course here and absolutely loved it. The two instructors, Sofyah and Strahan were amazing! They made sure they knew our names, they would fix up any mistakes you made and ensured everyone came out of the course with pieces they were proud of. We loved it from start to end, and were already planning to do the next course before we’d even finished the first.

Have recommended this place to everyone I know. If you are more advanced you can get a membership here, which would save you purchasing equipment. There is also a store located on the premises for pottery needs.

Courses do book out very very fast, so get organised!

My partner and I booked a ‘Wheel & Wine’ for our date night and we had the best time. The staff were incredibly skilled, friendly and helpful – and they do not allow you to leave with a product that looks too bad!
The level of assistance is perfect, they leave you to it but will help fix something if you mess it up.
The atmosphere is really relaxed and it’s a lot of fun.
Pics of the end result with our chosen colour of glazing.
I highly recommend giving this a go.

A bit of a mission to get tickets as they are high demand! However had so much fun in the Wheel & Wine class as first time potters.

Recommendations:

– Bring a friend!
– Don’t hold back on bringing a nice cheese platter and make sure to start eating and drinking as soon as you’re seated.
– Bring an apron and extra towels.
– If it is a full class, the tutors will be busy trying to look out for everyone so a reminder! put your hand up without hesitation (even if you feel shy).
– You get two clumps of clay. One is free (comes with the ticket) and other you can buy. If you like the results of both, buy the other which costs another $15.
– Perfect for an occasion and to do in remembrance of a celebration i.e birthday, anniversary, etc

All tutors were so lovely and their guidance was very much needed for anxious first-timers as myself and my partner.

Picked up our cup/bowl 2~3 weeks after we made it. Loved the result and would keen to try the Coffee & Clay class in the near future.

Last week marked my inaugural visit to the art center, and I was utterly captivated by the enchanting cherry blossoms that greeted us at the entrance. I will be very happy if the event organizer can encounter the public to use public transport to get here, espresso when there is an event. This has caused so much trouble for the residents at Corban Estate townhouses. Others, a very purpose built estate for rhe good of tangata whenua. Have attended so many events here as an individual, a group and as a parents and student. Love that the Te Pou theater is also sitting here. Tried a pottery class at this studio near the city, and honestly, it was such a good experience.
The space is cozy and easy to get to, but what really stood out was the teacher. So kind, patient, and genuinely passionate about pottery.
I’ve done classes at other places before, but they always felt a bit rushed. This one was completely different. I felt like I could really take my time and enjoy the process.
They even use high quality Shimpo Whisper wheels, which make a big difference. quiet, smooth, and beginner friendly.
You can tell this studio is run by people who really care about the craft and their students.
Would 100% recommend to anyone curious about pottery!!

I did a five week hand build course, it was a lot of fun! The studio is friendly to new learners, the course is flexi and can be as creative and challenging as you wish, and the problem solving was particularly great. Diego is a strong teacher and doesn’t shy from guiding on hard/creative ideas and figuring out methods for tricky things. I did the beginners class with my friend and it was so much fun! We did both hand building and the wheel pottery. The finished product was also amazing—my friend and I will definitely use them. We are looking forward to book for the regular classes.

I just completed my first pottery class with a group of friends at Eden Ceramics. The class lasted about 2 hours, and we tried both hand-building and wheel techniques. Today, I received my pieces of art and I’m excited to show them off! I absolutely love them. It’s amazing to use your imagination to create your own unique pieces. Richard, our tutor, was excellent and very patient. Looking forward to the second class!

5 Stars for the concept of the venue 3 stars for running an opening. A little out of their control was that they’re very small rooms and there were lots people, which caused the problem, as they seemed to be more interested talking with each other, while blocking passage routes so anyone there for the art had a difficult time seeing much. My suggestion. Don’t worry going to the opening if you’re wanting to see the art. Food and drinks, nice touch but if you don’t drink alcohol and are not a fan of Auckland tap wanter better BYO.

Once called the Artstation, now known by the te reo name Toi Tu, this place is a cultural hub. It provides exhibition space, studio and water. Very happy with the place, simple to find (and with high enough ceiling stud in an as-yet unbreakable building), it’s valuable and nice.

Erica’s pottery class is an absolute gem. From the moment you walk in, the space feels peaceful and welcoming — it’s the perfect environment to unwind and get creative. I came in with absolutely no experience, but Erica is an incredible instructor who makes the learning process feel exciting and accessible. Her classes are structured in a way that gives you the freedom to explore while still feeling completely supported. She’s always there with guidance, encouragement, and expert tips, and you end up learning so much without even realizing it. It’s become something I genuinely look forward to every week — a highlight in my routine. I’d highly recommend signing up for a term class if you’re looking to try something new, de-stress, or just enjoy the joy of making something with your hands.

What a relaxing Saturday morning. Erica has created a very inviting and warm space as has a very relaxed way of teaching.

Never tried this before and was well worth it. So, there were 5 of us in the group, so quite small and made bowls which was a great intro. From scratch, rolling the clay, all the way through to painting. With plenty of guidance along the way, but also freedom to in any creative direction.

Definitely a place I’d like to go back to for a few hours and look at doing more of an art piece given there is so much inspiration inside.

Ayni’s Pottery has been my favorite place this year. Erica’s classes are peaceful, fun, very rewarding and something I look forward to each week.
I especially like the freedom, transparency and motivation Erica establishes in her classes. A project you have in mind might not work, but rather than being discouraged, the mystery outcome is only used as a motivator.
Highly recommend this studio for anyone looking to make new friends (with both people and clay..)

Erica is an experienced potter and caring teacher, she is always keeping an eye on you, I was surprised how she was able to look after everyone in the class, I didn’t feel neglected like it could happen in other group classes, she makes sure to have small groups so she can pay attention to each one of us fully. There were beginners like me and advanced students and she could cater well each one of us. The classes were very nice, included our own reflections, working with clay was a mindfulness exercise for me, a great way to get out of my mental space and connect to the here and now where we can easily lose track of time. I recommend the experience and the teacher, she guides u with so much aroha. Thank you Erica.
