Super delayed review but just want to rave about Cater Station! I used them for our Christmas lunch at work last year and it was a hit. The food was so delicious and the perfect temperature. Everyone kept asking about where I ordered the food from. Being a really busy season, we didn’t have one of our boxes delivered due to error but after I rang they remedied it straight away and were very apologetic. I could not recommend the Cater Station enough. FIVE STARS PLUS!!! I heard about the Cater Station through an event I had attended that they had catered, and I absolutely loved the kai and the concept, so I took down their details to use for my next event. When it came time for me to use them, my booking experience was absolutely FANTASTIC! From the initial website enquiry (everything is very well laid out, boxes are easy to view and the descriptions are clear), to the easy to use booking system, to the pre and post order service. The team absolutely do it all and I cannot rave enough about them. They are so responsive, answered any queries I had in a timely and friendly manner. Nothing was too much for them. Delivery was on time and the kai was so fresh and delicious and presented so well. I ordered the same box (taco kit) twice in two weeks (for 2 different events) and I can confirm the service, the delivery, the presentation, the quality of the kai, all of it just hit both times!! I have happily recommended this to many of my colleagues and whānau, and will definitely be looking to order again, as frequently as I can! The grazing platters were great, we loved all the vegan cheeses and dips and olives!
The eggplant moussaka was definitely a highlight for the mains, and everything else was also very high quality.
Although I didn’t spend much time with them, everyone else has said that the staff were completely delightful, and everything being on time was excellent.

Amy and Alana were nothing short of incredible!
It was super easy to organise the tasting, we sorted the menu, and all our plans were in place. They dealt with our last minute cancellation for COVID extremely well, and we were able to rebook them for our new wedding date!
Despite only Alana being available for our actually wedding day, she was incredible, friendly, and the food was just absolutely delicious! we really appreciated her working solo when it usually required two people.
In our wedding party, we had many allergies to cater for, but this was no problem for the sustainable food co. The food was delicious tasty, and meant all our guests could enjoy most of the food despite these allergies!

Absolutely amazing company to use for catering. My whanau and I were absolutely blown away at the quality of food we were provided, the meat was tender and succulent, the salads were so damn delicious, you wanted thirds. And the desserts, golly, we’ve never consecutively agreed on something but for my wedding, we all agreed SSR was outstanding and worth every single dollar.
Shelley and her amazing hard-working team were literally perfection and I will definitely be utilizing them from now on for any event.

of the numbers who would attend and timing lol! We just want to thank the team at Southern Spit Roast & BBQ Catering there was more than enough food and many compliments received about the food. So easy to deal with from booking, the setting up of buffet, starting time for serving food, packing away of left over food and the cleaning up.

We had and exquisite menu consisting of meat, seafood, and incredible vegan options. Their staff was very professional, I loved their attire! They made our outdoor farm wedding feel so fancy and high class! Andrea was absolutely outstanding. Little Wolf works with Folio Hire and provided great options for table settings. From inquiry, to execution, and 100 emails in between, she was prompt to reply and accommodate my many requests. I was at a party on Saturday and they had ordered Kerala chicken biryani. I have tried various styles of biryani before. This one was so very tasty and flavourful. It was garnished with fried onions, fried raisins and boiled eggs. They also supplied raita, pickle and a full bag of papads. Superb.

We hired paella pan for our wedding and it was amazing ! We had 3 types and everyone was just raving about how amazing it tastes ❤️ safe to say that everyones belly was full and the leftovers were taken home really fast !

I’ve had a lot of paella in my time, mainly in Spain. This was the worst one I’ve ever had. I threw it straight in the bin it was inedible. Green beans and sweet potato don’t belong in paella and some of the meat was unidentifiable. Horrid, and definitely not paella.

Went here on a Wednesday for a work function. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, great tasting. The vibe was fabulous especially the band and DJ playing those old school songs. I would go again.

A group of 9 of us booked in for a Wednesday Phil’s Night Dine and Dance evening. The band 20/20 is awesome!!! The food was good Island/European food done really well, so delicious. The sad part was only being allowed up once at a buffet! Dessert was good too. Tea and coffee was just cheap stuff but I was grateful to have it there. There is also a cash bar. Such a fun night and will return with my family another Wednesday.

I’ve been coming here for a few functions for over 20 years. Always guaranteed to get my island food fix. It’s a great venue with plenty of parking across the road, limited time but handy to the location. Nice open plan space, round tables and for its age not in a bad condition.

For $40 it definitely was a rip off by the time i had got up to get my plate of food there was barely any food left beside bread mince and pasta and little bits of pork then while trying to scrummage up anything to eat they already clearing all that was left away i would have gotten more for $40 at mcdonalds. Definitely not value for your money and will not be returning or recommending this place. Left there still hungry very disappointed.

Great venue for many functions. Air conditioning was perfect, actually a little cool, but good because with the amount of people we had, at functions it normally get over warm. Customer service was nice, food was alguds. Would definitely use again.

THE BEST CATERING I HAVE EVER HAD! I ordered from Spit Roast Catering for my daughters 5th which was on the Saturday that just passed (14th September) and the food was phenomenal! Moist, fresh and delicious! I asked for the food to please be delivered by 5:30 and they were there at 5:30 on the dot! The parking at my venue was hard to get through (didn’t know at the time) but the person that managed to deliver was able to arrive on time AND helped me setup. The amount of compliments I got from my family for the food was amazing too! The amount they give for each person was huge & they provided utensils, napkins, serviettes, rubbish bags, plates and dishes for the food as well as amazing service. Food is always a big part of birthdays esp with my islander family and the food from here was the absolute best. Thank you so so so much to the staff for the amazing food& great service
