The course looks very natural. Greens are in great condition. The wind is probably the biggest challenge. A few holes have great ocean view.

I had an amazing day out on the course. The fairways were in fantastic condition, and the greens rolled so true. Everytime I come back it’s gets better and better.
Tolan and the team were awesome, super welcoming and professional. I can’t wait to come back for another trip.

Such a great vibe at this club. I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery as the views are quite stunning. I’m not a proficient golfer by any means but there were plenty of members/staff that was very helpful. The golf club itself is a saviour for the local community, so when local shops are shut down for public holidays, the golf club is open for locals to come in and buy drinks. The fairways are just in sublime condition and the greens are well kept. The venue itself has motivated me to continue learning to play golf.

I grew up playing this course as a youngster but have not played here for a long time.

Finally made it out and it bought back so many memories. What a beautiful Link’s course. Still deceptively tough, great to get back to where it all started for me.

Thanks to the staff out there.

First time playing this course. Received warm welcome even just turning up to play and joined up with local member for a round (thanks Peter).
Fantastic layout amongst the sand dunes making a stern challenge, especially with a sea breeze, though it wasn’t too had according to my host!
Although greens looked patchy they were in good condition and were quick and true.
Clubhouse is highest point and adds to perfect end of a game.

Played in driving wind and 40km/h winds, absolutely amazing. Started the day with a nice big fry up from the restaurant, played 9 holes and came in for a coffee and to warm up. Back out, and the sun came out. Fairways were awesome, greens were true and fast. Definitely deserves its place in the top 20 in NZ.

This is a fantastic course for beginners! The fairways, rough, and greens are all well-maintained, making for a pleasant playing experience considering the great price ($20 – 9 Hole).
Just be aware that the course has some elevation changes, so I’d recommend bringing or renting a trundler (they’re only $5).
It can get very busy, especially on Saturdays. If you’re planning a weekend round, aim to arrive before 8am to avoid a 20-40 minute wait at the first tee. Even then, you might encounter some waiting on the course itself.
Overall, I highly recommend Chamberlain for those new to golf.

Awesome course, good challenge walking the ups and downs but all part of the intricacies of each golf course. Unfortunately the greens hadn’t been mowed/swept for overnight dew so they ran a bit slow but overall a great course.
The views definitely live up to the hype too. Will definitely come back for another round and improve on my score… I hope!!

Cheers!

This course is great. It starts a bit hilly and weird. But it opens up and get really nice. You can easily walk the 18 Holes. Playing from the tips ( Blue ) is a challenge on some holes but is a in general chill course. As a junior you only pay 35$ and as an adult ist something around 55$. That is very fair for the views and the course conditions. The bar is at the top of the proshop and gives amazing views over the sea
Overall very pleasant experience
Paul Horyna (☆ 5/5)

It’s hard to argue that this is not a pretty golf course. The website feels like you’ll see cliff edges and water every second hole, you won’t but the glimpses of water you do see are special. The course is very hilly so it wears you down, you’ll need to be on your game. It’s a little expensive to be honest as other local courses are half the price and offer a lot more shots on a flat surface. The hand trolleys are so old and the straps are broken, you’ll need to bring a bungee cord but they are free so you can’t really complain.

Picked up my first set of clubs in NZ from these legends, and I have to say—top-notch service! Evan was an absolute gem, guiding me through the options without making me feel like a total amateur (even though I absolutely am).

Dropped a decent chunk of change, and they sweetened the deal with a few freebies—always a nice touch. The range itself is solid, plenty of space to shank balls into the distance while pretending to work on my swing.

Highly recommend if you’re in the market for gear or just want to smack some balls and feel good about yourself. Ask for Evan—he’s the man!

My local club…located in west auckland redwood Is a gem of a club. Easy to find and with plenty of parking. They have excellent warm up facilities. With 3 nets, a practice fairway and bunker just off the car park. There is also a very well maintained putting green to get the feel of the greens whilst waiting to tee off the 1st. Staff here are very welcoming always happy to help. The course itself is a mix of challenging holes with a splashing of scoring opportunities, there’s something here for all abilities which keeps you engaged. That is if you can take your eyes off the stunning forest views. They have however really struggled the past few months with flooding and the course fairways do need a good dry out. But they are still very good in most parts. The greens are in fantastic shape however and I’m amazed at how considering parts of the course were under several feet of floodwaters at times! In a normal summer this course will be amazing! Membership is reasonably priced and having played with a few it’s easy to understand why they stay members for decades. Changing rooms and clubhouse are modern with a lovely feel to them the 19th hole is a pleasure I’d recommend taking a sober driver with you

One of the rudest golf clubs in the country, especially against younger golfers. One of the staff members seems to never tolerate the slightest lateness. This is hypocrtical, as the club seems to not do much about members who tee off at the incorrect times and play on their own despite being booked to tee off together in the system. That member who teed off at the incorrect time keeps thinking was trying to hit him from behind. He even assualted me. A complaint was laid with the club but nothing was done for over a month. I regret joining this club as a member. I hope the council shuts this place down soon.

Very wet. The fairways had large areas of long grass roped off that our balls disappeared in. The pro shop could have given us a heads up even maybe a discount on green fees. It’s a good course with not enough drainage for winter conditions. Lots of elevation in each hole makes for a good challenge but I’ll play again in summer. Thanks.

Very enjoyable course. Well maintained, greens in great condition. Very hilly with lots of interesting and challenging holes. Recommend getting a trundler at least as there’s lots of hills. Will definitely be back.

As can be expected being in the Waitakere ranges this is a up and down course and I would recommend renting a cart. A lovely course with diverse holes and good bail out areas for the not so braves like me. Super friendly staff and the course is in great condition. Played it a few times over the years and its always a nive outing.

If you want a lazy round of golf this is not the place to go. If however you are in training for the SAS this is the perfect place to hit a few balls. It’s very hilly. Do not walk it unless you are a mountain goat. Quite a few of the holes are blind, makes it interesting but frustrating if you haven’t played the course before as there’s no maps of the holes on the tees so it’s up to you to guess where the green is hiding or at least do homeworkbefore playing. The Fairways are in good nick, greens are good too! For the price of a round its amazing value! The holes are challenging but not impossible the back nine in my opinion is much more playable as it’s not on the side of everest (also the name of the 9th hole) some really pretty par 3s. 15th through to the 18th are really enjoyable once you catch your breath, can see the clubhouse and start to imagine the cold beers on the 19th. Have played twice with trundler, will defo go again but a cart is a must!

Beautiful scenary. Longer than usual length compare to other courses and works great if you like a more challenging course. Lots of uphill and downhill walking. Generously wide fairways for those t-box where you can’t see the fairway. If you aren’t too fit, sharing a cart will make you enjoy the game a little more.

Cart는 당연히 필요합니다. 숲속이라 바람이 심하고 언덕이 많지만 그린은 잘 정리되어있고 여유롭게 즐길수 있습니다. 핫푸드가 없는게 조금아쉬워요~

Tee bookings on Mondays and Tuesdays are cheap as chips.

Course conditions hella good nowadays and the views on a good day are beautiful.

Burgers and beer after the round is absolutely amazing. Thanks to the friendly staff at the pro shop, super welcoming.

非常棒的球场,球道长且宽,环境也很美。美中不足的就是如果排水问题改善再好一点就好了,冬天和雨天去打,草地就不是太好,有积水,一场球打下来会变成泥腿子

Rydges is a magical place. We were visiting from North Carolina joining a tour but looking for a 2-day golf get away before we met up with our group. The resort surpassed every expectation. Our villa was lovely, meals were perfect and the golf was spectacular. The staff and managers were more than friendly offering rides into town, rides to the marina and Lance even offered his card to us to call him if we needed anything. We were pleasantly surprised at the hospitality that we received from everyone including Zia and Bridget and others. We hope to come back again sometime soon.

Mixed feelings about this course. The greens and the fairways are amazing and the layout and overall course grows on you. It’s also great they cut the rough quite a way in else it would be too hard.

The main negative is around the vegetation removal and lack of native trees… especially on the front 9.

All in all we enjoyed the round. Loved the greens.

Enjoy my time there. Great RnR retreat. Food was great. Hot as well. I saw the reviews that it wasn’t a good food experience. So we decided the next 3 nights we will eat here.
Our accommodation was deluxe twin villa with 15% off , $20 daily credit & $25 breakfast per head so came about $238 per night a $150 bond beforehand if no damages. Nicole was very helpful in getting the best deal I booked deluxe villa but needed a extra bed & she suggest twin deluxe villa with no extra charge. The staff on arrival was Fantastic keeping it contactless but also very Helpful, friendly Hosts. Our room phone didn’t work so we used our phones for any room service. The 2x double beds are like 2x queen beds. Plenty of room. The villa #4 itself was awesome. Height and width of place was huge. Bathroom took 1 half of villa very modern & spacious. One lil thing was air con. Looks out of date. But it’s still working why change it
1st night on the menu which says level 3 menu. we ordered supreme chicken, cheese burger, lamb ribs, steak medium rare, banoffee pie, chocolate cake. Steak looks good medium rare & hot going to warm good enough to set then eat. Size was small but thick. Maybe 250g but good portion. Supreme chicken was authentic Asian. My partner said it took her back when she little. Must be a southern style dish. Cause she’s from there.
Lamb ribs (lamb flaps)was had raw veges & dipping sauce. Complimented each other. Ribs Well Marinated taste great that I ordered 2x the next day. Suggestion slow oven bake. So it falls off the bone.
2 desserts you can taste the individual flavors & the crust was crumbling.
The cheese burger. The Pattie needed more time. Ate it anyway cause it tastes Great.
There’s breakfast & other items which I pic below they all well portioned & enjoyable to eat. Coffee was on point also. Partner had latte with splash of caramel shot. I had the regular latte.
Hope this helps someone looking for a quick getaway around Auckland. Since boarders are close for travel.
