Today I picked up two new pairs of glasses from Specsavers Newmarket. Great selection of frames but it is the quality of the people and service that impresses me most. I had the usual prerequisite eye tests a few weeks ago and then some more eye health tests today when I collected the new specs. They are thorough and thoroughly professional. They have identified a potential health issue which will require monitoring of which I was previously unaware. So if you need or want new glasses and ensure your eye care is looked after then I heartily recommend these people. To a person they have been excellent.

This was, quite literally, the first time I’ve ever had an eye exam in my life, as well as the first time I’ve ever needed corrective lenses of any kind, in five decades. Despite not knowing anything about corrective lenses or the specifics of vision issues, the staff at Specsavers, from the optometrist to the reception staff, were all kind, patient, helpful, and extremely knowledgeable. They explained everything clearly and ensured all my concerns were addressed and questions were answered. It was truly a lovely experience, and I’m even excited to have to wear glasses now. The entire process was stress-free and even enjoyable. Is it because I’m weird, or is it because the staff at Specsavers are just that good at what they do?
I can’t remember the names of the staff that helped me at the time, but the reception trainee and the staff member assigned to help me choose my frames were both phenomenal.
I was not able to choose at this appointment as my partner was unavailable to provide input on the frames, but I was able to go to another Specsavers store with her today and purchase my frames. Thank you to everyone involved.

I initially had a good eye exam however when going to collect glasses that had new prescription I was met with arrogance and not listening to the customer. I had to ask for the fitting and when I told them they aren't sitting right the response was well they are straight. Also was told it's about prescription not how they feel but they didn't even know why I needed glasses or explain what to do to test prescription. Left with glasses and took to competitor who were more than happy to fit and noticed they weren't right before I even had them on fully. Filled in feedback on website and had just a store person call not even management and was met with more arrogance and no apology until after I pointed out he hadn't appologised. Still waiting management phone call. Fair to say I will not be back at all.

It's my second time having my eye's tested and the equipment and process from the first time, was different but much better and after two weeks i picked up my new prescription glasses, also you can have your hearing test done

I had an excellent experience! The entire staff was outstanding—professional, knowledgeable, patient and welcoming. Throughout the process, from the eye exams to the new glasses fitting, I was well-informed about my eye health and options, as well what to expect of the new prescription.
A special shoutout to Uezy and Adam, who provided clear explanations and truly understood my questions and concerns.
Highly recommended!

I am always super satisfied with the customer service I receive at Specsavers no matter which store I choose (North or South Island).
The eye check is comprehensive and seamless. All of the staff I interact with are skilled and responsive. Today I picked up my new glasses after 9 days. The prescription is correct as always. Thanks Specsavers Newmarket.

Be aware if you book for an EYE TEST at Specsavers they now advise before doing this test they are going to undertake a HEARING SCREEN too - all undertaken in a small dark room just off a very noisy area. How opportunistic! Whilst my result was (surprisingly) pretty normal and you are not forced to do it, I find this practice rather distasteful and Specsavers looking to upsell. Nothing is mentioned about this Hearing Screen when you book - you are sprung with it and it adds extra time onto your appointment. I spoke with one of the Directors who appeared to think because it was complimentary it was acceptable. I hastened to explain it should have nothing to do with pecuniary matters but everything to do with principles. I was informed others have also made complaints. It was mentioned that this directive comes from Specsavers UK whom I have now contacted. I believe if they wish to undertake this supplementary check they should not only advise this at the time of booking, but do it in an appropriate environment.
