Marcelo listened to what type of haircut I wanted. Told me what he was going to do get the style I wanted. Such friendly staff. I am thrilled with my new haircut ‍♀️

I’ve been going to Marcelo and Co to cut my relatively long hair for a few years now - I would not go anywhere else ever again. Previous to being referred to Marcelo by a friend, I never left a hairdresser fully happy with the results. It all changed ever since I started going to Marcelo, now I always leave the salon truly happy with his work. Marcelo actively listens to what I want to have done, changed, styled differently, etc. and makes it all happen with his magic styling hands. He also proposes really cool ideas for a change sometimes, but always respectful of my desires. During hair wash time, he gives the best head massages ever!! I always joke that if I could I would go back to have my hair washed there every time, just to enjoy a wonderful massage treat. The salon is also beautiful and peaceful. I highly recommend this hair salon to anyone who is looking for an outstanding hair cut experience!

I have just moved to New Zealand and saw the reviews for this hair salon so I gave it a try and loved it! Marcelo and Danny are super nice. Danny sat down with me to go over the different hair color options for the dye I wanted. He made me a coffee while I wait for my dye to set and then the color came out perfect! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience:)

I always have the most wonderful experience at Marcelo & Co. From the moment I walk in, they make me feel welcome and truly listened to what I want. My haircut is absolutely perfect—fresh, stylish, and exactly what I envisioned. And the balayage was stunning! The color is beautifully blended, natural-looking, and adds so much dimension to my hair. Not only is Marcelo incredibly skilled, but he also made the whole experience so enjoyable! As always, it's a relaxing experience coming to the Salon. Marcelo, Danny and team are professional, fabulous at what they do and there's always lots of laughter, with great coffee included. I am a long term client and Marcelo is a perfectionist who knows how to create the perfect shade of blonde with 0 brassiness. Every visit includes a consultation and I always leave feeling amazing and my hair looks fantastic. My latest treatment was the nano keratin and it's amazing! I don't trust anyone else to do my hair.

During my stay in Auckland, I booked to have my hair highlighted at Marcelo & Co. The salon had impressive reviews and I was excited to have my hair done as a treat to myself while I was solo travelling Aotearoa. Unfortunately I was quite upset with the end result. Despite providing a reference photo, my finished hair did not meet my expectations and deviated significantly from the desired outcome. The before and after photos are virtually indistinguishable. I was upset as I'd paid over $300 for this service and felt that what had been promised between myself and the stylist had not at all been delivered. I returned the following day to express my concerns. I was polite, calm and respectful in explaining my discontent and my desire for at least some compensation, but the stylist responded by saying that I was "aggressive" and "disrespectful", and that it wasn’t "attractive" for a young girl like me to come in and act in such a way. I was taken aback by his comments. I felt spoken down to as a young woman and invalidated, but most of all I was disappointed that the salon couldn’t apologise nor take responsibility for the end result of my hair. It was obvious that I didn't receive the service I was promised or expected. I was travelling to Wellington in the next couple of days and my schedule was packed until then. I wasn’t able, nor did I want to have another hair appointment with the salon. Ultimately, I didn't get any compensation from the salon and left feeling quite deflated. I felt as though my concerns were not taken seriously. The least I expected was an apology or recognition that I wasn't satisfied, but instead I was told that I wouldn't receive any compensation. It was quite an upsetting experience overall, not one that I will want to remember of my time here in Auckland. (Reference photo attached + before and after photos attached, photos taken by stylist).
