I had a great experience at the Architectural Software holiday program in TsingMei Art Studio in the City, as I learnt SketchUp Pro and V-Ray. In the 5 day program, we learnt how to use plug-ins on SketchUp Pro, which was essential as it speeds up the modelling process, and we learnt how to professionally render, bringing our designs to life. I believe that this will be incredibly helpful for me in the future when I go off to university. I definitely recommend this program to those planning to study Architecture in the future.
Angela (☆ 5/5)

Billy Zhang (☆ 5/5)

Learnt a-lot from the digital design classes. The teacher is really good at giving feedback and really goes in detail the features of the software which made it easy and fun to learn.
Max Zhang (☆ 5/5)

在画室学到了很多,平常上课可以自己做也可以随时找老师,假期也有很多软件课可以选择,灰常好

Our team has visited Paint the Earth on several occasions, and we highly recommend it! On our last visit, we all created a mug masterpiece with artwork that is inspired by our work culture. Great team bonding experience! The Paint the Earth team are fantastic and always very helpful during the whole process.
Markplan Consulting (☆ 5/5)

The team at Paint the Earth were phenomenal. I went in with my 6 month old and a vision to create the perfect Father’s Day platter using my son’s hand and footprints. Everyone was so friendly and even used their expertise to capture the most perfect little prints. Couldn’t recommend this place anymore. Will definitely be coming back again.
chelsie hendrickson (☆ 5/5)

I’ve been coming here with my family since I was a child and have collected many items from here over the years. My most recent experience with Paint the Earth was for my birthday, and the experience on the day was fantastic. Passionate staff with great customer service focus.
I look forward to planning my next visit in the future
Kate (☆ 5/5)

Overall it was a great experience- the shop is quiet and calm with awesome staff to help you select, plan and complete your piece. There are so many pieces to choose from with examples of completed versions to help inspire you. I went with my best friend and highly recommend as a friends afternoon or date evening.
We picked up our pieces 2 weeks later and they looked better than we expected!
There is a cafe nearby and you’re allowed to bring drinks (no food) in while you are painting. I would bring a drink bottle and a coffee next time.
Ashley Stratton (☆ 5/5)

Heaps of pieces to choose from. The place was spotless and equipments were clean and tidy. Friendly staff. We were there to celebrate my three year old’s birthday but my husband ended up enjoying the experience more!
Olivia Lee (☆ 5/5)

Such a fun way to spend 3 hours, the staff are all lovely and friendly. There are loads of options for things to paint, and prices are comparable to the movies or a meal out. I liked is so much I now work there on Saturdays.
Tanya Smith (☆ 5/5)

Amazing place. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Definitely one of a kind. We love every moment of it!
I tried to channel my inner Bob Ross by watching his videos but the best I can do is flower on a mug
Thanks! We’ll be back!

My children both attend these Art Classes at St Thomas’s – they absolutely love it! Basma is an incredible teacher and my children’s art has come such a long way. My daughter has been going for 2 and a half years and my son started this term. They really look forward to going and adore Basma
Thalassa Kop (☆ 5/5)

My daughter loves her art classes with Yulia and looks forward to them each week. They use different mediums such as coloured pencils, watercolours and paintings. Yulia is an amazing teacher who guides her students to create amazing art.
Wendy Nicholson (☆ 5/5)

Basma is an absolutely amazing teacher. She has the ability to bring out the best in her students. My daughter gained such confidence in her ability to draw and create through Basma’s wonderful guidance. It has set her up to have a really great hobby/outlet/skill for life.
Emma Allen (☆ 5/5)

Our daughters have been learning art with Yulia for 4 years at Victoria Avenue School and in workshops held outside school. Their interest, talent and enthusiasm for art has grown under her mentorship, and they have produced beautiful art that they are proud of. Yulia has been very encouraging and positive and our daughters really enjoy their time learning with her. She has shown a kind and genuine interest in their talents even outside of art (e.g. music) and this has further grown our daughters’ confidence in their artistic abilities.
Tushar Sharma (☆ 5/5)

Our girls have been doing after school at classes with Yulia for years. They have enjoyed learning a variety of art styles, from a talented and lovely teacher. They are both very confident young artists now, with a passion for exploring all things creative.
Rachel Looi (☆ 5/5)

My son has been in one of the Aquarelle Art Class for 2 years already, and he had a big improvement in his drawing. He always loved Art works and the teachers, Yulia and Basma as they both are fantastic and supportive.

Last week marked my inaugural visit to the art center, and I was utterly captivated by the enchanting cherry blossoms that greeted us at the entrance. The galleries proved to be a captivating wonderland, where we lost ourselves for a delightful three hours. We savored the serene beauty of cherry trees, basked in the warm embrace of sunlight, and reveled in the gentle caress of the spring breeze. What a splendid day for a leisurely city stroll!

Love what they have done to this place. Very close by. Each week there is something going on that serves the community.
I will be very happy if the event organizer can encounter the public to use public transport to get here, espresso when there is an event. This has caused so much trouble for the residents at Corban Estate townhouses. Others, a very purpose built estate for rhe good of tangata whenua. Have attended so many events here as an individual, a group and as a parents and student. Love that the Te Pou theater is also sitting here. Totally love it and the Michael church were summary have done their debut acting from. All located in this small corner.

Our tutor Molly was so helpful, enthusiastic and made it a lovely experience. Lots of renovation/construction but after covid it’s so important to support the arts as it brings incredible value into our lives. Now more than ever.

The cafe part is different and interesting. Much of the food is made from scratch including sauerkraut. Cost is very reasonable and coffee is great. Cold drinks too. Inside and outside seating . Quite small .

Auckland Under Construction Exhibition 2022
Thanks Mark Whippy… Artist
Ho Dogg (☆ 5/5)

5 Stars for the concept of the venue 3 stars for running an opening. A little out of their control was that they’re very small rooms and there were lots people, which caused the problem, as they seemed to be more interested talking with each other, while blocking passage routes so anyone there for the art had a difficult time seeing much. My suggestion. Don’t worry going to the opening if you’re wanting to see the art. Food and drinks, nice touch but if you don’t drink alcohol and are not a fan of Auckland tap wanter better BYO.
Petrik Oud (☆ 3/5)

Quite lovely. I enjoyed every minute of being here. Delightful
Shannie (☆ 5/5)

Once called the Artstation, now known by the te reo name Toi Tu, this place is a cultural hub. It provides exhibition space, studio and water. Very happy with the place, simple to find (and with high enough ceiling stud in an as-yet unbreakable building), it’s valuable and nice.

As a finalist for Miss Universe 2025 I had the pleasure of booking in with Paint & Chill. I absolutely adored this experience and couldn’t recommend it enough. Connie led this activity and with the inspiration of the famous Bob Ross quote ‘there’s no mistakes, just happy accidents’. I was able to create a beautiful masterpiece with a million dollar initial. Thanks again for the most wonderful experience xx
Lucrezia Bradley (☆ 5/5)

It was my first time trying a painting experience like this and omg it was very fun. Although I am not an artist, was able to still have fun and take my time, finishing my artwork. There is a tutor who will provide step by step instructions just to guide you if you are a little lost. You can also take your time and paint in your own pace too if you wish. The even was from 6-8pm but you can leave whenever you are done. If you need a bit of hand, the teacher can certainly do so, just a bit of touch up
Overall, great experience !
Cost: around $60 pp
Lo Jannis (☆ 5/5)

It’s my absolute favourite thing to do whenever I have time off. Highly recommend this social activity and I feel like an artist every time after I come to one of these classes. Absolutely feel all the stresses melt away from day-to-day life. Highly recommend as a gift to someone or just for yourself to meet new people and be inspired. Such fantastic hosts and people!

Connie and Tony were excellent in both set up and, timing, attention to detail and running of the session. Our Team had such a great time with many many laughs! Thank you so much 🙂
Akshita Nama (☆ 5/5)

We booked for 2 of us for my birthday and we had the most fun time. The teacher was very good with her instructions and she was also very enthusiastic and fun. We got a free drink with our ticket and had the best time. The class on that Saturday afternoon was larger than I expected, about 20 people. All supplies were there, nothing lacking. Out of the 2 painting classes I’d pick Paint & Chill again
T&E Tayler (☆ 5/5)

We received so many helpful tips and encouragement which helped us all feel very comfortable and relaxed. We enjoyed the session so very much and were very surprised at our results. I would highly recommend this experience and would come again without hesitation. Connie is an absolute treasure and asset she really made our day, her humour and insightful personality makes her the perfect person for this role. From an exhibiting artists’ perspective, Lake House Arts Centre deserves high praise. Every step of the way they’ve made it easy for me to learn how to show my art and hold a successful exhibition. They made me (and my guests) feel very welcome, and in the exhibition opening the pōwhiri added an amazing, uniquely NZ sense of occasion. I feel very fortunate to have had this opportunity. Thank you.
Chris Melville (☆ 5/5)

Update: had to took one star off to make it a 3 star review because of a recent unhappy experience.
During the last event I was told that I could get the tickets half price because I was a regular guest (yes I was there twice for the after dark events and I was gonna be there more times). Many other guests heard it too and I took their word for it.
When I tried to get a half priced ticket for another event two weeks ago, they refused to sell it to me, and insisted that the price was not gonna be halved.
Won’t come back again. It’s not about how much a ticket is, it’s about trust and promise.
———-
Had an after hour ghost tour tonight. The Lake House Arts Centre is a small place with a lot of fine arts and an interesting history. Our tour guide was humorous and knew the place well. Snacks and beverages/drinks were provided, which was great. We only had 2 hours for the tour and the house was full of guests, which made me feel short and crowded. So therefore I would suggest that future tours would last longer and less than 10 guests shall be invited for one single tour. I was glad to hear the host teamed up with Paranormal NZ to conduct paranormal investigations. I am a regular guest to Paranormal NZ, who sometimes create public events. Their events are long and limited to few participants, which make their events more fun and engaging. So yeah less people, more time would be better.
I took some pics before l left, and if you see sth unusual, let the host know.
VWY D (☆ 3/5)

The Lake House hosted our annual Christmas party, and it was an incredible experience! Communication was seamless, and the service—both before and on the day—was impeccable. The venue was clean, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable for our team.
The food was amazing; we collaborated to create a menu that suited us perfectly, and the staff were exceptionally accommodating. After organizing work Christmas parties for over 15 years, I can confidently say this was the most successful and least stressful one yet. The team has been full of glowing reviews, and we’ll definitely be booking again for next year.
Well done, The Lake House!
Carla van Walen (☆ 5/5)

Fantastic venue, love this place. Have been numerous times for a variety of reasons (including the Ghost Tour – very well done, highly recommend!). Most recently, used the Lake House Arts as a venue for a staff Christmas party and they went above and beyond. The venue was beautiful, the hosts were incredible, the catering was next level – providing options to suit everyone. Would definitely recommend this place for an event, or just a Saturday afternoon peruse and lunch at their cafe

We had Nikita and Tessa from Pinot & Picasso do a mobile session at our studio for our team of 12. We had so much fun! The whole experience from booking to the night was seamless, and the level of difficulty was perfect for our group. Highly recommend!

Thank you John for our amazing team afternoon at the Albany studio! What a fun and relaxing activity. Surprisingly found some budding artists amongst us and everyone had a great time under your patient tutelage. 100% recommend to even the least talented painter and a fabulous team event. Am going back with my husband I liked it so much!

We booked a specific Saturday session in advance for a special birthday celebration. The day before the event only an email was sent to say that our event will be cancelled but we could join the event later the Friday instead. There are no phone numbers to contact them, and they never called to let us know they were planning on cancelling our session. When I asked for a refund due to them deciding to cancel, they only did a partial refund.

Fun activity, and while you follow the instructor there is room for bringing in your creativity. As you can see from the photo, even if painting is not a natural strength, the experience is still fun if you don’t take yourself too seriously.

10/10!
Sophie was such an awesome teacher! This was such a fun experience!
She was awesome when explaining how things work- Or techniques to try and all were really helpful especially when using the textured paint! Not to mention her artistic style is really impressive. The vibe in the class was perfection- It was a judge free supportive class that Sophie created. She let us pick the music, we had a sing and a dance, we all had a great time! Really just wanted to say thanks to her for an awesome session! 🙂 Will be back for more painting Fun.

I had a really bad experience.
Communication was horrible. They only have email and barely answer.
In terms of the class it´s self I went with my friend and there was only us and a couple. I feel like most people would join these classes for the atmosphere and it was not there. If we knew how many people were going to be in the class, we would have cancelled my session.
The art teacher was very young and shy, making the space super awkward instead of being welcoming, positive and enthusiastic.
I think it´s also super expensive for what it is.
This was a very upsetting experience and will not be doing it again.

I have been asked to review our session. Unfortunately it was cancelled at short notice.
Offered another session but finding it difficult to wrangle my 5 guests & find another session we can all attend. Hope our next experience is more satisfactory.
After another hiccup with our 2nd booking we finally managed to complete our mission on our 3rd attempt
A birthday adventure for my 97 yo mother. Mum & I were joined by her grand daughters & great grand daughter for 3 hours of fun. Far too busy painting to sip. We all came away keen to return. Thank you P& P for making things right for us. We created great memories & some average art work.
