Auckland Council Henderson Animal Shelter

(This is about the road staff and not the actual clinic.) Got verbally assulted by the staff useing unesecary language for the suitiation. I would more than strongly advice to avoid useing the survices that they provide and to find alternatives as they will most likely do the same as they did to me. I dont usually write reviews but felt the urge to write this one as i want to get this experience out there so people can avoid some of the arrogant and disrespectful staff. I really had faith in a council own service like this one to have at least respectful staff but sadly this isint the case. Agian as I said at the start I am only talking about the road staff who I strongly advice avoiding contact with at all cost as they are some of the most arrogant and overall dreadful human being I have ever encountered.

Got an infringement notice from 7months ago for an impound fee, when my dog was picked up from a few houses down wasn’t impounded, officer did a 15minute job. Have only receive an overdue notice with extra fees, the pound always smells like piss also.

Had a fantastic experience with them 3 years ago. Saw a advert of a dog that I thought would be a good mate for my other rescue dog. The staff bent over backwards to help me and to "test" whether the two doggies will be a match. Acted quickly to get and inspector to look at my home and give the green light to adopt. Thanks everyone.

They made an effort to get a lost dog back to her owner buy checking the lost pets website so thats good just had to pay 210$ for registration and impoundment fees so an expensive experience not so good but I'm just glad I got my pet back

Not able to actually enter premise and view dogs. Makes it very difficult to adopt an animal when you're not free to interact/view.

Really friendly staff who were helpful when we registered our pup and got him microchipped. They patiently answered all our questions and made the whole process seamless despite our Pup's unwillingness. We would definitely recommend them to petowners for the affordability and service. Thankyou Team, keep up the great mahi.
