Animates Albany

As a dedicated cat owner and a regular customer of Animates, I was excited to visit this particular branch for the first time. I was pleased to find all the food and toys I needed for my pet, making my shopping experience convenient and hassle-free. The store had a well-organized layout, and the environment was welcoming and pleasant. Additionally, the staff were incredibly kind and polite, always ready to assist with any inquiries. Overall, I had a fantastic experience, and I look forward to visiting this branch again in the future!

I visited the store at 1:30 PM and stood at the counter ready to pay. There were two young women behind the counter, both on their phones, completely ignoring me. The store was empty — no other customers — so I’m not sure if they were blind or just chose to pretend I wasn’t there. I stood there for about five minutes without a single word or glance from either of them. What made it worse was that their calls were clearly casual chats with friends, not work-related. Then another customer walked in, also ready to check out, and one of the girls immediately hung up and helped her first — skipping over me entirely. I don’t know what kind of management allows this kind of service, but it felt incredibly disrespectful, and honestly, made me question if there was an element of racial bias involved.

The shop assistant was very enthusiastic and patient in introducing the cat food needed for the elderly cat.

I love shopping for all my pet supplies at the Albany Animates shore. The staff are fantastic! They are friendly, knowledgeable and always happy to help and give good advice. Top shop!!

Great staff, and they fussed over my dog - that's always good. ( even when it peed inside, they just laughed and mopped it up with no worries- good people, good company.

Went in a couple days ago and had the absolute privilege to talk to staff member Tayla, she was so nice and full of knowledge around things for my dog! Great customer service from her! Many times I’ve been in and not had a good time with the staff, I have felt they can be quite rude at times but Tayla has definitely changed my mind! Thank you for all you help!

Really welcoming team. The whole store is organized really well and it's really easy to find what you're looking for. Shout out to Erica for being so helpful and patient with me, and helping choose the right plants for my goldfish. Can't wait to spoil these goldfish!
