Visited for dinner and had a pleasant experience overall. The ambience is warm and inviting, creating a comfortable setting for a relaxed meal. While the space isn’t very large, it’s well-utilized and doesn’t feel cramped.
The service was above average - prompt and courteous, though there’s always a room for improvement. That said, the staff were genuinely warm and welcoming, which added to the overall positive vibe.
The food was flavourful and lived up to its reputation for authentic cuisine. However, if you prefer your dishes on the spicier side, it’s a good idea to mention that while ordering, as the default spice level leans towards mild.
One downside was the lack of a high chair for kids, which could be inconvenient for families with toddlers.
All in all, they offer a satisfying dining experience with good food and a cozy atmosphere. Worth a visit for those looking to explore traditional flavours in a comfortable setting.

A beautiful vibe/atmosphere, fantastic and friendly hosts, and amazing food. Couldn't have asked for more.
Honestly, one of the few Indian food places, where I feel you can taste the authenticity; Home away from home experience.
Parakh (☆ 5/5)

Excellent staff and atmosphere, the place was extremely popular and the staff were excellent, some of the best.
The food was okay, better than most Indians but just didn't quite hit the spot, at least for someone who has enjoyed Indian food for over 30 years. I've eaten Indian food in UK, Sweden, Norway, NZ, Viet Nam, and 7 countries in Africa; in Tanzania I was cooked for by the same chef who cooked for the visiting Indian Prime Minister.
I tend to like heavy, deep flavours, the flavours here were very subtle, a wide variety but to me lacked depth.
The jira poppadoms and accompanying dips were excellent. The sheesh kebabs, although having had good flavours were 'mushy', lacking texture, like a vegan sausage.
The rogan josh was what lacked depth. Rogan josh is usually a deep brown colour with a rich, deep flavour; this one was almost red in colour and had a wide variety of flavours but lacked depth. The lamb was tender and done perfectly.
It could be a style of Indian cooking I'm unfamiliar with.
The Raviz in CBD is closer to my style.
I would certainly consider returning and encourage anyone in the area to try this place.
One thing that didn't help was the high price; 2 starters, 2 curries, 1 naan and 4 drinks came to over 200NZD, the most expensive Indian I've ever had.
Worth a visit if you are in the area and don't mi d the expense.

Anand and his team are the best. So hospitable and generous. Absolutely delicious. No wonder they’ve been in business over 32 years!

Only one thing needs to be said after eating here. Take my money. The flavours are intense and deep and complex. They are authentic. The food is absolutely top drawer. By far the best curry I have had in NZ.

The ambience and decor is lovely here but the dishes lacked flavour. The spices in the dishes were very subtle. The papadums were yummy though. The service was hit and miss depending on who the server was

Where do I begin, this place has got to be the one of the best Indian restaurants I have been too. It is also the perfect restaurant for date night and families as well as for coworkers. Their naan was one of the best being crunchy and chewy and just splendidly pleasant with the curry. The lamb curry was so savoury and delicious and the butter chicken was also very nice. 10/10 would definitely come back for more.
