Disorganised store and unhelpful customer service My experience at Wairau Rebel Sport was extremely disappointing. The store was completely disorganised — items were hard to find, and there seemed to be no clear layout or order. When I asked for help, the staff didn’t seem to know where anything was. Instead of assisting me, I was simply told, "If you can't find it, buy it on our website." Not only was that unhelpful, but it showed a lack of interest in providing real customer service. If the store can't help customers in person, what’s the point of having one? Don't waste your time here

One of the staff members gave me completely wrong information about Tennis balls. When I went to the Wairau Rebell with my work uniform, the salesperson might have thought I was foolish. When you hire staff, don’t choose those who are keen to work for low salaries; hire professional staff who have the knowledge.

I recently purchased 19 items from this store, spending around $650. Unfortunately, they didn’t provide me with a bag, so I had to carry everything by hand to my car. This was quite inconvenient, especially given the amount I spent. I hope the store can improve its customer service by providing bags for large purchases in the future.

I only go there if I must but I'm not a fan. The Albany branch is ten times better. Wairau is untidy and staff not best at assisting

I purchased a pair of white crocks (Clog U CRC Crush, White) from this store on 26 December 2024). The staff helped to get right size. I wore them for two hours resulting in bleeding skin around my right ankle. I waited and allowed wound to heal. I tried again with socks. This time It got bad so I visited podiatrist who said the shoes’ material wasn’t safe to wear. I always had healthy feet and I had never encountered similar problem in the past. I went back to the Rebel store and explained the situation to a couple of frontline staff as well as to the manager on duty (Jarome). I was happy to change the crocks with a different style of crocks. Jarome asked me to go away, clean the shoes to their original condition; and, then only he would exchange them. I had brought the shoes back on the 10th day of purchase, and wore them twice only for a brief period of time. They caught dust etc which was obvious due to white colour of crocks. However, I had brought them back purely due to health and safety reasons! The manager eventually agreed to send the shoes to the supplier/manufacturer for their review. No exchange were offered. It was a very bad experience while the store management made it worst!
