Well, what can I say, except what an awful experience with Dinah and her company. The staging was meant to be arriving on 26 October 2021 at 9 am. I was not advised they would be late. I was called at around 4.30 pm that the furniture would be arriving soon, after waiting around all day . It was about 6 pm when I came home and viewed it. They wanted me out of the house during installation of which I complied. As I was selling an elegant and upmarket home, it should have been staged accordingly and it wasn't. The majority of the furniture that was supplied did not enhance or suit the property in any way. You were advised we were not happy with the calibre of it.
With 50% of the invoice already paid upfront upon your request as a deposit, we said we just wanted to try and make this all work for everyone and suggested keeping the bedroom staging and remove only the main lounge furniture - even though I did have 2 lounges. You chose to instead become defensive replying "not prepared to leave some of it and I think it is absolutely up to our usual standard" and "I have been doing this for 27 years and have never had to remove a home I installed so this is a first". Then "the vendor is living there and has a cat" etc. (My cat was going to my daughter's place upon staging arrival, of which I had told you). Also "I am an interior designer and have many high net worth clients, so I feel my judgement is accurate". My place was immaculate as you would have seen had you opened her eyes or taken in what we were trying to explain with the style look we were seeking, suggesting nice pieces to give you an idea.
When the furniture was to be removed, we had to wait for a week for your movers to come and remove everything. It was meant to be Friday October 29 then it was moved to Monday 1 November saying it was not possible, then your movers arrived on 2 November a week from when it first arrived. There was no contact with me. Nothing during this time. This halted all the processes of my new staging, photography and listing the property.
As you took your time to collect the furniture, in that 1 week period we also had comments from several professional people who viewed the property who thought the staging was definitely not up to standard, so it was not only our thoughts! They can back me up.
We had waited and tried for months for the deposit to be returned which I paid upfront on 11 October 2021 of $2,357.50. You agreed to return it and I quote "Happy to remove the whole lot and just charge them for the removal cost". You have only returned $632.50 on 9 December 2021 after many requests. You have therefore charged me $1,725.00 for your removal man which should go without saying, excessive..
I am ultimately the most reasonable and fair person around and don't think what has happened is fair at all. I have a record of everything in my diary and email correspondence as backup of what I am saying.
You chose not to resolve anything fairly after being given 3 months to do so. You chose to get personal and claimed I was overthinking it.
We did ask to view your showroom, but you refused.
Your obligations and services under the Consumer Guarantee's Act was not fit for purpose.
Please don't ask my daughter again to advise me to remove my feedback on google reviews and threaten with repercussions if I don't.
This is about the principle now more than anything. But it is never too late to try to resolve nicely. Up to you. Then I may consider improving my 'feedback'.

From the moment they came into our home, I could tell that they knew their stuff. The suggestions that they gave us, the ideas that they shared was amazing. We put our trust in them and I know I couldn’t have done this myself. I can’t thank them enough. It looked fabulous and everyone that came through to view the house thought the same as well. It looked bright, airy and welcoming. The way the furniture was placed showed off the best of our house and the photos that were used for on-line advertising really did make a difference. The on-line photos are the first look for the potential vendors and we had over 100 groups through the doors at Open Homes and 15 groups at the auction. I really do think the home staging played a big part in it. The price we paid was really realistic and well worth it. The process of delivering and installing the furniture and then collecting it afterwards was seamless and we were able to ask advice along the way. We sold at auction and cannot thank the team at DMI Homestagers enough for their part in it.

DMI recently staged our Ponsonby villa. The team were fantastic to deal with and did an amazing job.
It was no trouble working to our tight deadline during these busy times. Our house was transformed with the beautiful furniture and I believe largely contributed to our house selling after only 6 days on the market. Thanks again Philly and the team!

I have found Dinah and her team to be nothing but professional in their homestaging of my home. Dinah's team arrived on time and were (kindly because I am not a decorator) very responsive to my comments, kindly swapping out one item to accommodate my preference. The home looked really lovely after they had finished and I received many positive comments from agents and people who visited the home about the quality of the presentation. The staging also looked really great in the photos. Dinah was also very flexible about the removal of the staging, keeping it on so as to take advantage of some unexpected late marketing opportunities. I would highly recommend DMI.

We always recommend DMI and we have now just had our home staged once again by Philly – What an incredible difference her foresight has made to our living spaces. She has been able to transform three of our rooms from nice to spectacular. Very clever furniture choices. The staff were so efficient during the stage install that it just miraculously appeared during the time I was busy with a meeting on my deck. Very reasonable rates and the service is so good I’d never think of using any other company. Thanks, once again.

Everything went really well with the team at DMI Homestagers. We were really happy with how the house looked and the suggestions they made. Everything was moved in and out of the house without any issues, and we really appreciated the extra effort that the team made on the move out day. Given part of our (long) driveway was out of action after the recent Auckland flooding it made it more difficult than it should have been to get the items all moved to the truck. However the team did it without any complaints and a special shout out to Callum who really helped manage things very well that day too and kept me well informed. Thank you DMI team.
