Four of us just returned from a 3 week trip to the North and South Islands of New Zealand . First I must mention what a beautiful country New Zealand is, from its breathtaking landscapes ,the vibrancy of the communities and the friendliness and warmth of the people. Learning about the Maori culture was a highlight of the trip.
While researching travel agencies I settled on First Light Travel. It was important to me to use the expertise of a local agency if possible . First Light Travel more than exceeded our expectations. I worked with Marcella Johnson. She was very professional, available when needed, and very instrumental in helping me set up our itinerary. She worked well within my budget. We chose to have private drivers on each island which made it possible to concentrate on just having fun without having to worry about the logistics of driving . Not only did they drive us from one place to another ,they made sure to recommend scenic stops, as well as places for lunch they thought would be of interest to us. Everything went off without a hitch. The hotels, as well as the tours she arranged were exceptional. Marcella helped us to choose activities that met all of our needs.
I (and my family) would highly recommend a trip to New Zealand, and in order to have the best experience possible you should contact First Light Travel.

Recently returned from a fabulous trip to New Zealand. We chose First Light Travel to put together our trip, as they had great reviews. Marcella did a great job working with us to include as many nature related experiences as possible and advised us on best time of year to travel. In all, we spent about 5 weeks visiting both islands. This included a two day trip to Stewart Island staying in a beautiful Boutique Lodge. Probably the best holiday we have ever had. We loved New Zealand; the people; the food; the cities and the wonderful scenery. Great variety in what we saw and the time spent in each location suited us well. All the hotels/accommodation were excellent. Easy driving and good roads. Certainly this holiday exceeded our expectation. Thank you Marcella!

My wife and I had long dreamed of taking our bucket-list trip to Australia & New Zealand, but as we researched the various places to go and things to do, we quickly became overwhelmed by all the options. We saw great reviews for First Light Travel (based in Auckland) and we decided to hand over our list of preferences and have them book the trip for us. This was the best decision we made for this trip! They knew all the good places to go, the hotels, excursions, and all the transfers between travel points. Danielle was the one who booked our trip, and her friendliness and knowledge of the country made it all so easy for us! Every detail of our month-long trip worked out perfectly and on-time, thanks to Danielle’s great planning. Thank you, Danielle—if we ever go back there, we’re calling YOU!!
Don Durston (☆ 5/5)

First light travel planned our itinerary for New Zealand and Australia. We did a two week trip with one week in NZ and the other is AUS. Anna Caudle was very prompt and responsive. She answered all our questions and concerns about the trip as well as took our must visit spots into consideration when planning the trip. The hotels and apartments we stayed at were very nice and clean. Transportation was well planned, we had our driver waiting for us at every airport and were timely in picking us up from the hotels. We will definitely use First Light Travel for our next trip! Thank you, Anna!!

I can’t say enough good things about First Light Travel! We worked with Marcella who helped us create our dream custom itinerary for our 2 week honeymoon. She was very patient, knowledgeable, and quick to respond. Once we actually got to New Zealand, all of our expectations were exceeded when it came to hotels, excursions, and other recommendations. We felt very well taken care of and didn’t have to worry about a thing other than enjoying ourselves! This was the trip of a lifetime and we are so grateful for the help.
Maya Peters (☆ 5/5)

First Light Travel planned an unforgettable 16 day trip to Fiji and New Zealand to celebrate our 15 year wedding anniversary. I can attest that this one of our all time favorite trips. We experienced so many unforgettable experiences such as paragliding, jet boating, swimming with wild dolphins, and Hobbiton. Our travel planner, Gina O’Neill, was exceptionally detailed and thoughtfully took all of our feedback to craft our dream vacation. She made our trip seamless and completely stress free. Can’t say enough good things about First Light Travel! Highly recommend this service!
Susan Engdahl (☆ 5/5)

Nicole with First Light Travel helped us book the New Zealand honeymoon of our dreams! She was very knowledgeable and resourceful, and helped us make the most of our 2-week trip. We had a blast visiting local bird sanctuaries, the Dark Sky Project, and learning about Māori culture in Rotorua. The glow worm caves were also a must-see! We highly recommend First Light to anyone planning a trip to New Zealand for their professionalism, local knowledge, and affordability.

If you are considering whether or not to do this cruise, consider no more. It is more than worth it in every respect. The organization of the crew to boarding and what to expect, the friendliness of all of the staff during the cruise, and the knowledge that was shared were all exceptional. We definitely got to see dolphins on the tour and the enthusiasm when we would come across a pod of dolphins was contagious. This was a fantastic trip and more than worth the price. My 19 year old son and I had a fantastic time and it was not only an excellent way to end our visit to New Zealand, the friendliness and honest focus on ecology and conservation that seems to permeate the entire country was very much encapsulated by this experience. A perfect bookend to our trip and most highly recommended.
Jason Driver (☆ 5/5)

Absolutely phenomenal! This was an amazing day to get to set so many dolphins and we spotted a whale. It was quite rainy but wouldn’t trade the experience for anything! The crew, absolutely loved! Thank you for making our honeymoon experience so memorable!
Ruth Musser (☆ 5/5)

We were in two minds whether to do this trip but were so glad that we did. We spent over 4 hours at sea and whilst we had our fingers crossed that we would catch some glimpses of sea-life we weren’t prepared for the spectacle that awaited us. The skipper, Graeme, took us out into the Gulf and the crew members (Sonaa, Toni and Cayla) gave us insights into the Gulf’s marine wildlife. We were treated to a real extravaganza as the dolphins raced ahead of us and then started to herd fish. A whale joined them, ploughing through the centre of the fish, and then the gannets dive-bombed the water. It was like an episode from one of David Attenborough’s documentaries. It was a magical afternoon although I think we might have been particularly lucky that day. Some lovely memories to bring home.
Alison Lilburn (☆ 5/5)

Fabulous boat trip with qualified Marine biologists who participate in the care and monitoring of sea life. The staff were all brilliant, very informative so a really interesting trip. We were very lucky to see 2 whales, lots of dolphins- 2 types, and the gannets in action in a feeding area. The boat is lovely, very clean and comfortable with good snacks and some hot food, easy to
Walk around and loads of seating inside and outside. Would highly recommend
Gilly Naylor (☆ 5/5)

We had the greatest experience with this crew. All of them are really desperate to find those dolphins and whales, which we both saw. The boat is amazing as well. I would 100% recommend this tour over all of the others in Auckland, even though we got a bit wet in the front
thea gerken (☆ 5/5)

The crew is amazing – very informative and kind, very dedicated to their mission towards the animals, the environment but also the guests. Make sure the weather will be good while you attending, because on the sea the weather is getting much worse than on the shore. Don’t stay in the splash zone right from the start, stay inside and only go out when and if you find dolphins/whales. We only encountered the common dolphin and we received a voucher to repeat the experience because of that. Thank you crew, it was lovely.
Mariana Dimofte (☆ 5/5)

This is my 4th trip with AWADS and the 4th time we have had unique experiences.
Absolutely loved seeing the brides whale feeding. The common dolphins are always fun to see with their babies. Thank you for a lovely day.

I can’t recommend Wild Kiwi enough. Both guides I had for the Big South trip were fantastic, helpful, and fun! Claudia had so much passion for New Zealand, and Tom was super informative about every place we visited. We saw so much of the South Island and all activities were optional, so was easy to be adventurous or have a quieter day if that’s what you needed. The bus journeys might be long but the views were spectacular, and there’s lots of stops along the way. I’d recommend this to anyone, but in particular solo travellers, it was a great way to meet new people and make friends whilst exploring this beautiful country.
Caitlin Buller (☆ 5/5)

The best few weeks seeing the sights and BEAUTIFUL views of NZ! We could not recommend Wild Kiwi enough – there is something for everyone! We did the 3 week NZ Discovery tour and loved it! Claudia and Tom were amazing guides – they provided all the best recommendations on things to do, places to eat and even organised lovely group dinners! The tour is a great way to see the best bits of NZ and also meet incredible, like-minded people
emily sellen (☆ 5/5)

Tom gave us an unforgettable experience! Our South Island adventure was nothing short of breathtaking, and the company made it even more special. I highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to truly experience the natural beauty and spirit of New Zealand. My only regret is that we only booked one week—I’ll definitely be back to explore more! Thank you, Tom, for your vibrant energy, your laughter, and for making this trip so memorable.
Bryanna Biffis (☆ 5/5)

I did the Premium – New Zealand Highlights in January 2025 with Wild Kiwi and had an incredible time. What a country! Incredible landscapes, vibrant culture, cool towns, and great infrastructure. I got lucky with two great groups on both the North and South islands.
Our South Island guide, (Big) Ben, made this trip exceptional. Ben’s knowledge, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for New Zealand shone through. He ensured that every part of our journey was memorable, providing fascinating insights into the history and culture of each destination. Ben’s ability to connect with the group and his unfaltering energy and timing turned our trip into a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation.
If I had to make one recommendation to Wild Kiwi, it would be to add more items to the tour inclusions. Having said that, I understand that different individuals will want to customize their trips in different ways.
I would recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore the highlights of New Zealand. And if you get Ben as your guide, consider yourself lucky.
Martin Lacey (☆ 5/5)

Highly recommend the big South tour!! A fantastic way to experience all the beautiful gems New Zealand South Island has to offer. Our guide, Tom, went above and beyond to ensure we had spots on amazing activities, a smooth drive, and great recommendations for lunch, dinner, and delicious breakfasts. The accommodations were comfortable and well-equipped, and I had a private room Wild Kiwi organised, so I felt well taken care of
Chanine Klomp (☆ 5/5)

I recently went on the NZ Explorer tour, and I highly recommend Wild Kiwi for your NZ adventure, which covers both the North and South Islands. The bus was equipped with Wi-Fi for the road trip, and the hostels were comfortable. The tour itself was structured like a road trip—while there was a plan for when we were on the road, once we arrived at each destination, we had the flexibility to do what we wanted. The tour guides also arranged activities for those who wanted to participate. The semi-structured nature of the tour ensured we had fun without missing out on any must-see sights.
My tour guide for the South Island loop was Claudia. Claudia’s energetic and friendly personality helped break the ice, turning strangers into friends on Day 1. She kept the tour enjoyable while sharing interesting facts about New Zealand’s history and Maori culture.
On the North Island, my tour guide was Telli. Telli’s sense of humor added an extra layer of fun to the trip. When a few of us had conflicting activity plans, Telli would say, “Let me see what I can do,” and get creative to help us maximize our experience.
I especially appreciated that both Claudia and Telli never pushed any activities on anyone, allowing everyone to choose based on their interests and budget.
Great job, Claudia and Telli! Thanks to your efforts, we started the tour as strangers but ended it as friends on a roadtrip to remember for life!
Sahil Puri (☆ 5/5)

I recently went on the South Island Escape with my friend and highly recommend Wild Kiwi!
From the beginning, I appreciated how the admin team were very responsive and thorough leading up to the tour.
I had the most wonderful trip which truly exceeded my expectations as we went to so many stunning places and did heaps of activities.
Our highly experienced and incredible tour guide, Ben, was welcoming, enjoyed sharing his local knowledge and always happily answered our questions. He was also very organised, an excellent driver, and had a great sense of humour!
I loved that the small group size made the tour feel like a fun road trip. It was amazing to travel with such friendly people of different ages and backgrounds, with everyone looking out for each other.
Thank you to everyone at Wild Kiwi who made this fantastic trip possible.

We had an amazing time on this walking tour! The route is well-planned, offering a perfect mix of historical insights, local culture, and insightful gems we would’ve never discovered on our own. Our guide, Darcy was exceptional — friendly, knowledgeable, funny and passionate about what he does. He really brought the stories to life with engaging commentary and made sure everyone felt included. It was the highlight of our day, getting to know amazing nuggets of information across various topics, piquing a lot of interest and we’d like to do a more thorough one again some day. We’d absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting a wholesome informative connection to the city. It’s an easy walk too, well paced and suitable for most. Don’t miss it!

Don’t hesitate to book this tour! Our guide was Darcy and he had us alternately laughing and open mouthed with his wit and fascinating info about Auckland and New Zealand. A truly great way to spend a couple hours.

This was a great tour thanks to our guide, Nick. He was funny, easy to understand, enthusiastic to share the history and stories of Auckland and so willing to answer any questions. I would recommend doing this 2 hour tour to get a good sense of Auckland CBD.

My husband and I went on a Saturday morning 2-hour walking tour with Darcy Peacock. We really enjoy these types of tours and have done them in various places around the world. Darcy is among the best… he’s great at what he does, truly loves his hometown and genuinely cares about you as a traveler/tourist. Well done… we highly recommend this tour and appreciate Darcy for introducing us to Auckland!

Darcy was a great guide, funny and knowledgeable. Highly recommend. Slight annoyance was at the end only took tips in cash, so had to withdraw cash at the end. But at least it was convenient, as we ended right near an ATM.

Had a really good walking tour with Vicki today. We have done lots of these walking tours in many different countries and Vicki stands out as one of the best. Very knowledgeable, fun and interesting stories. Managed our group of about 20 very well. Kept on schedule. Answered a lot of questions and made our experience very enjoyable. Would highly recommend her.

We went on two trips with Explore while we were in Auckland: one whale tour and one trip to Tiritiri Matangi. The latter was fabulous, quick, and virtually seamless. The former turned out to be 6 hours ferrying other groups of passengers between various ports while we incidentally found a pod of dolphins. The dolphin sighting was truly amazing, but it felt like not the best deal for a whole day on the boat. 3 stars for the whale tour, 5 stars for the Tiritiri trip.
Sam Speer (☆ 4/5)

There are many marine tours departing from Auckland, but among them, I definitely recommend Explore Group New Zealand! There’s no doubt about it. As a resident of Auckland who often goes on various marine tours with my son, I never imagined there would be a tour that offers such meticulous guidance and commentary, plus a walk on Rotoroa Island, all for $155. However, while we’re used to any rough seas, even people who don’t usually get seasick might feel it on this tour.
Regarding young children, it can be very dangerous for preschoolers. If you have multiple preschoolers, it’s best to reconsider the trip. My son is used to boats, so he can balance his body with the movement, and I brought a safety belt for him on board. Since it’s a long boat trip, some kids might get bored, and it’s a tough journey where strollers can’t be used and carrying children would be challenging. Just because we enjoyed it doesn’t mean I can recommend it for families with small children. This tour is suitable for children who love the sea, are used to boats, and are physically and mentally robust.
If that’s the case, there’s no other company that offers such a wonderful experience at such a low cost for parents and children! For marine tours, it’s Explore Group New Zealand!

It is great experience to watch the dolphins, we also manage to see gannets diving into the sea, it is very nice experience (Not showing the dolphins and gannets in my photo because that’s for you to see 🙂

We did the Explore Auckland Harbor Dinner Cruise and loved it! It’s a nice sail boat you’re on with about 16 folks in total and 3 crew. The crew was great. They explained everything and gave lots of background and info as we sailed. The food was nice and easy to eat while sailing. It does get windy and can be choppy. So be sure to layer. Overall a lovely experience. I highly recommend. It was our favorite excursion so far.

Heiko Christ (☆ 5/5)

Stray was an optimal choice in picking a tour company for my limited time in the North Island in NZ.
I’m a very heavy traveler at this point having had visited almost 100 different countries and usually, I’m pretty good about getting itineraries and building trips with my eyes closed.
I had started to do that for my 8 days in NZ and kept on coming back to a thought. While I had the means to rent a car or use public and do this all on my own that Stray’s price and what they included overall really wasn’t that much of a price difference. At that point, it would be me just being stubborn in choosing to tour on my own and Stray’s date for the North Island tour linked up perfectly with my fly in/out dates.
The tour of the North Island was excellent – I can’t say there were any parts that were less than optimal but I would just say when you visit the Blue Duck to make sure you are armed with the right supplies including alcohol.
I’m somewhat of a foodie so while I can’t say the food was at all bad, I like to turn things up on where I eat and was able to do so. There was a lot of space/time to allow me to freestyle and not feel obligated or forced to only do exactly what they want at their exact times. They kept things loose like that and as a freestyler of sorts, I liked that part about the journey with Stray.
Shorty was an excellent guide providing a nice spirit throughout the journey. At no point did I feel that any part of the tour was less than professional but also, Shorty was nice and inclusive trying to make sure everyone had a good time.
Jonathan Finney of Protrips (☆ 5/5)

I spent 3 and a bit weeks travelling with Stray all throughout the South Island in New Zealand and can honestly say I had one of the best experiences ever. Everyone I met on the buses were so friendly and I loved the flexibility of being able to hop on and hop off the bus at any point when I found a stop that I particularly liked. I thought there was a good mix of ‘must do’ stops like Queenstown, Mount Cook and Wanaka as well as some smaller stop offs were you could chill out a little more. I think it’s perfect for anyone who is travelling solo and want to meet new people.
Courtney Leopard (☆ 5/5)

Just finished the Kea adventure tour and it was an amazing experience. Jack and Cody, the tourguides, were very kind and involved and did a great job at showing us around New Zealand. I did so many unforgettable things: ziplining, kayaking, the Tongariro Crossing, my first sky dive, swimming with dolphins, visiting the hobbiton movie set… This tour is a great way to explore New Zealand, without having to drive yourself, and to meet new people.
Merel Op't Roodt (☆ 5/5)

Just completed the Kaka tour with Whaea-Nicole, who was a lovely and approachable guide! She looked into the safety of each and every one of us, and made all of us feel very comfortable with her. She also gave good advice about the activities and shared wonderful fun facts along the trip. The trip was a memorable one because of her, I will definitely recommend travelling with her if you are planning to visit NZ!

Stray is for everyone, every age, travelling single, multiple…If you want to relax, enjoy, experience and let the ones who know New Zeeland best show you its beauty, choose Stray, choose an unforgettable journey. Thank you Lego & Stray for being professional & wonderful guides.

Just competed a 9-day NZ South Island trip with Whaea-Nicole (driver-guide) under Stray Select Kaka Tour. The tour is packed with hiking opportunities to Hooker Valley, Mount John, which offer stunning views of Mount Cook and Lake Tekapo respectively. The stay at Hermitage Hotel is most memorable as it is so close to the mountains and the dinner and breakfast buffets are superb! Nicole also brought us to try the best pie in NZ at Farlie. Thanks for the amazing tour.

The best service from when I booked it to when we entered the boat Thank you to Alex for his communication with booking the boat. It was for a team function/ breakup and the staff plus captain on board was welcoming and we even danced with the workers who were so respectful and full of great energy. Such an easy process with booking and also having the sound system by Bluetoothing our music was super cool. Very affordable price for what it’s worth and will do it again for any of my functions.

We had my best friends hens do with Ocean Groove Cruises all dressed up as grannies! 16 of us all had the best few hours on board, we got the hens package and the staff were amazing and kept us entertained, hydrated and fed throughout the afternoon! They were extremely helpful, always had a smile on their face and really just gave us the best experience. Alex made the organising and booking of the tour very easy, as well as all the other staff made the day the best. 100% recommend! Will definitely be back! (dressed our ages next time)

I have been on the cruise twice. It’s such a cozy space on the sea with amazing view, good food and your favourite music, plus super friendly and helpful staff. I met Mal last time and I had issue with my credit card for parking. He took care of it by adding my number plate… You guaranteed to have fun here with Ocean Groove Cruise!

Our evening cruise on Auckland harbour was brilliant – highly recommend booking with Ocean Groove Cruises. Mal, Alex and the team on the day were an absolute pleasure to communicate with and made the cruise an outstanding event for our team. Everything ran smoothly from planning through the cruise itself and afterwards. Our team was very impressed and had so much fun. Thanks!!

This was very long day, but well worth it. Bus was very comfortable, clean and driver was excellent. We had few stops on the way there, both rest and sightseeing. Cruise was excellent, we had great time on board enjoying an amazing Milford Sound. It helped that we had a beautiful weather Good complementary coffee and cookies helped as well. We had a great day, great views (we saw dolphins, seal and had nice spray with the Milford waterfall). My only regret is that I bought a lunch basket, not worth the money spent. Otherwise everything was excellent.

We took a trip to Milford Sounds with Richard from Greatsights. The trip was amazing, views breathtaking and everyone had lots of fun.
I’d like to give 5 star rating to Richard, he gave us good insights and the historical significance of various places throughout the trip. His impersonating of native birds was amazing and kept us all interested. Thanks Richard for making this a memorable trip.

Richard is an excellent tour guide and bus driver. Not only does he do amazing animal and bird impressions, but he also shares fascinating facts and riddles that make the journey even more enjoyable. Milford Sound is a breathtaking natural wonder, and I highly recommend it—especially for anyone who has never seen a fjord before!”

Great experience! It’s true that the road is long from Queenstown to Milford Sound, but it was totally worth it. I didn’t have to reserve a night in Te Anau and guess that the day after would be the one to go to Milford. As the date of the tour is flexible, it was better to base in Queenstown where there’s much to do. And I got so lucky the day we went, waterfalls and sunshine. It was gorgeous! That road to go there is magnificent and the drive was interesting and nice. One of my favorite day in this country!!❤️

Been on my bucket list for years. A trip everyone should experience. Bus ride & cruise were superb. Our coach driver Nick was so informative onthe drive to Milford Sound about the history & wild life of the area. OUT OF THIS WORLD SCENERY . Would not hesitate to do it all again Glad I got there in comfort too.

Great full day to Milford Sounds from Queenstown. Its a long 12 hr day but well worth it. Our driver Ivan was amazing. Great commentary and a very professional driver. He engaged with us for a good portion of the trip up to Milford sounds and was very knowledgeable and approachable. We felt very safe in his capable hands. Hubby was able to enjoy the beautiful scenery instead of focusing on the road. Would highly recommend the day out

Knowing we were touring Milford Sound in winter, we rolled the dice…and won.
Beautiful day, windy as all get out, but the only time we got wet was when the Captain put the bow of the ship into the base of a waterfall.
Amazing experience.
Anybody and everyone should go!

10/10 experience for me : the locations we have visited, the country, the friendly and knowledgeable guide (Connor), the friendly group, the people back at the office were also helpful and efficient. The whole experience has been excellent from booking (the website provides good information and gives everything you need to know for your trip, and makes your booking really easy) to the last day of the tour. As a solo traveler I highly recommend this experience as you get to see so much of NZ with lovely people.

This was a great way to start our first day in Lima! Learning about local places, history, and food was so much fun with Cesar. He did an outstanding job speaking both English and Spanish so everyone could fully participate. Chef Manuel and his assistant Sharol(?) made the cooking process seamless.

You can’t go wrong choosing Haka Tours to introduce you to New Zealand (or show you things you’ve never seen, if you’ve been there before). Well organized from the first click on their website months before the tour until the last moment I spent in their company. Fun and friendly staffers both at the office and on the tour (and running their lodges dotted throughout NZ). Had many amazing experiences on my 24 day “epic” adventure with them – a bunch were included in the tour price. Their optional add-ons are all the ones you’d want to do, and they work with great vendors to make these a lot of fun and to get the most for your money. Saw firsthand how by maintaining good relationships with these 3rd party vendors sometimes gave Haka tour guests priority over others at the same venue (and sometimes even our own private adventures!) There was a lot of flexibility built into the tour, as well as time to do things on your own. If you are fortunate enough to be on a tour with Daz as your guide, you are in for the time of your life! A native Kiwi (the whole operation is NZ owned and operated), Daz knew things and took us places that I imagine other tours would miss, and these were some of the most memorable times on the tour. And he’s delightful as hell, and juggled all of the personalities on the bus like a master. I’m sure all of their guides are great, but I am partial to this particular charmer. This tour far exceeded my gigantic expectations in every way. I’d give 25 stars if that were an option.

Just did the 10 day Southern Pioneer tour, with the awesome George as our guide and it was by far the best experience! First time solo travelling outside of Aus and we were so lucky with the beautiful group, but also the amount of beautiful scenery and activities we did. George was very warm, welcoming, down to earth and relaxed and he most definitely made the experience enjoyable. I absolutely loved the trip and would do it in a heartbeat again, highlight was the 2 night glamping experience on Wanaka, loved having the property to ourselves! Some discrepancies between Intrepid’s itinerary but nothing major. Loved the greenstone carving that was extra special! Could not fault the smoothness of the trip and the accommodation was fantastic! Especially in Lake Tekapo/Lake Ohau – the lodge was lovely and would have been nice to stay an extra night there actually. Special props to George for providing daily Māori word of the day’ and giving us such a wonderful, memorable experience.

I had the absolute time of my life on the 16 Day Amplified Tour. I went to New Zealand with pretty high expectations for the country, my adventure, and Haka Tours. Well my expectations were not only met, but BLOWN AWAY. This was my first time out of the US and I figured I’d go big. I spent Christmas and New Years in New Zealand with a group of amazing people from all over the world. We were under the care of the extremely knowledgeable (and funny) Daz. From cancelled activities, to a particular demand of orange juice in the breakfast box (ha! eyeroll), to minor mishaps along the way, Daz handled it all with patience and care. Inclement weather may cancel an event but Daz would always have backup plans on backup plans. Haka Tours is absolutely the way to go, I cannot imagine seeing New Zealand any other way. Their staff behind the scenes do amazing work and ensure you are prepared no matter how far in advance you might be booking your trip. I absolutely recommend Haka Tours and I recommend you do all the high adrenaline activities, bungy, hot air balloon, and paragliding… all were out of this world. Thank you Haka Tours, and New Zealand – I will be back.

I did The Epic NZ tour for 23 days and it was the best decision I could make! We had awesome Lizzie as a guide the whole time, who was extremely knowledgeable and funny. Heaps of extra activities for everyone. HAKA tours is one of the best way how to explore NZ if you don’t have much time! Maybe it’s little bit more expensive BUT worth every single penny! I would highly recommend them and would do a tour with them again!
I had simply EPIC time on EPIC Island(s).
Zlata Škábová (☆ 5/5)

A fab time had all round, especially impressive considering it was a ski tour and there was not a lot of snow!
Connor and the guys kept it flexible and relaxed so that we could make the best of the conditions, whilst squirreling away in the background to keep everything moving smoothly and making it feel effortless.
A really friendly and laid back attitude helped the whole group mesh well and get the most from our trip. Thanks guys, it was a corker ☺️☺️

Only the red route was available in April which had 8 stops. The buses were easy to identify but the timetable was not reliable.the commentary was a little limited . The route took us to places we had not explored

Auckland est une grande ville et j’ai bien apprécié de pourvoir la visiter avec les bus explorer en plus le temps était super
Nadine Thery (☆ 5/5)

The buses are nice enough. The tour commentary is prerecorded and contrived. I liked the tour well enough but thought it’s over priced.
Gator Tex (☆ 4/5)

I’d like to provide some feedback regarding our recent experience.
The stop near Auckland Zoo was not located where it was shown on your official website, which caused confusion. In addition, the stop had no seating or shelter available, making the wait quite uncomfortable. The bus also did not depart on time, and we were left standing at the stop for 50 minutes.
We kindly suggest improving the accuracy of the stop information and schedule, and we highly recommend providing a mobile app or system that allows passengers to track the real-time location of the buses.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and we hope to see improvements in the future.

Great day with the easy to use hop on hop off system. We have used this in other countries around the world and have thoroughly enjoyed it in Auckland too. Totally recommend for an easy and safe way to see the city.
Lynne Thomson (☆ 5/5)

Wifi mostly wasn’t working. The explanations weren’t always timed correctly, but I really liked the staff. They were all really nice, friendly and helpful! Still a good way to get around the city and get to know everything a little. But, there’s room for improvement.
Shosanna Rayss (☆ 3/5)

Excellent tourer bus experience. Commentary is by loudspeaker, not earpiece. Commentary was very interesting and better than other hop on hop off tours we have taken. Highly recommended. Make sure you board initially at stops 1,2 or 3 as the purchase or exchange of tickets and travel vouchers is easies at those points.
