Perfect place for a stroll, power walk, romantic interlude, personal reflection, or just to get out and take in the magnificent views of Auckland CBD, Hobson Bay, Rangitoto and other significant landmarks around city. The trails present a reasonable challenge for fitness enthusiasts and a few benches around for those who like to live life a bit slower. Some paths are gravelled, and some steps on steep slopes - watch your step on wet and rainy days.
Make the most of good weather and go and enjoy the view!

Mount Hobson is a breathtaking destination that exceeded my expectations! The challenging hike rewarded me with stunning views from the summit, and the serene atmosphere made for an unforgettable experience. With well-marked trails, abundant wildlife, and picturesque flora, I found myself immersed in nature's splendor. While steep inclines may pose a challenge, the experience is well worth it. I highly recommend Mount Hobson to outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers, advising visitors to bring layers, wear sturdy boots, and pack essentials.

Beautiful mountain reserve. Stunning views from the top, fairly easy walk which takes approximately 15mins to reach the summit. Quiet reserve not many tourists frequent here. In my opinion Mount Hobson has the best overall views of everything Auckland has to offer. View of the harbour, rangitoto, one tree hill, Mt eden, panmure, CBD, Onehunga, Epsom and much more. Plenty of parking available on the street leading to the walkway. I've added pictures of the walkway & views from the top, including the stunning great trees which can be seen here.

It is exactly located in the city centre which I love. It’s a perfect place to catch the sunset or bring a journal with you and do some quiet time.

A stroll through the leafy bush up the hillside to the top of Ohinerau to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city is everything. From sunrise over the Hauraki Gulf to sunset over the Waitakere Ranges you get spectacular 360 views of our beautiful city, Tamaki makaurau. Whether it's grey and moody or a bright azure blue sky sitting up here and looking at "Everything the light touches..." I feel like I'm looking at my kingdom.
