Good little hiking break in and above the suburb. Some pathways have stairs, or gravel and deck – but mostly gravel with various access points all round. One bench under a beautiful tree. Easy to moderate walk – but not recommended for people with mobility concerns.

Great views if you can and are able to make it.

One of Tāmaki Makaurau/Auckland’s lesser known volcanic cones but still well worth a visit. Tracks have recently been upgraded by the Tupuna Maunga Authority and there are good views to be had from the summit over Maungawhau/ Mt Eden & Maungakiekie/ One Tree Hill as well as over most of the Auckland Isthmus. Entrances from Mt St John Ave and Warborough Ave.
