Louise has helped us tremendously! She always goes the extra mile, super enthusiastic and an all round lovely lady! Louise is very knowledgable and helped us with Stella’s insecurity with other dogs. We had gone to many trainers with no success but an hour with Louise and we were seeing a huge improvement! She then helped us with our puppy and his early socialisation. Always a positive and successful experience with a clear plan of what to do next. Would highly recommend!!

What an awesome experience for both Brioche and us (her fur parents). Louise has a calm, empathetic, friendly and caring approach to helping us train our little puppy. She was clear in her teaching, and it was very easy for us to understand and follow her instructions. In the four weeks of attending Louise’s class, Brioche blossomed from a timid and shy puppy to a confident and curious social butterfly! Thank you Louise for sharing your knowledge with us!

Louise is an amazing force free dog trainer. We seriously can’t thank her enough for what she has done for our puppy. He has come such a long way since we started with her and I seriously can’t say a bad word about our overall experience with The Dog Business.

Louise has gone above and beyond for us. With the extra after class information (training videos , more written information & SO many extra tips) and in class information etc she really in our eyes is just the best.

Her classes not only cover the information you are expecting to learn eg – our class was focused around recall; she also covered SO much more.

We are so happy we crossed paths with her. Thank you for ALL your support, help and guidance- your wisdom on force free training is impeccable and you have provided us with so much knowledge.

I would recommend Louise and The Dog Business for ANYONE with a puppy or a dog, trained or not. The Dog Business NZ is the place to go!!!

Barkley Manor has been an absolute lifesaver for both of my dogs! My Cane Corso started attending their puppy program when she was just 8-12 weeks old, and she’s gone through every stage of their classes since then. The staff are so loving, attentive, and truly dedicated to the dogs in their care. My Cane Corso is completely besotted with them, and I trust them wholeheartedly.

More recently, my English Pointer has joined, and he’s been settling in beautifully. The team has been incredibly supportive, especially with helping him establish boundaries (he’s quite the counter surfer!). They’ve been so patient and knowledgeable, and it’s made a world of difference.

I couldn’t recommend Barkley Manor more—it’s by far one of my favorite places for my dogs. The love and care they provide are unmatched!

Barkley did such a great job with our doggy. He is a rescue dog who is quite anxious around others, so we were quite nervous dropping him off. However, the grooming team listened to our concerns and talked to us through the process. We were extremely transparent and let them know about him being incredibly protective of the both of us, so he will bite if you get too close when he is with us. However, without us he’s completely harmless. They were extremely encouraging throughout our conversations which left us feeling a lot better and made sure to ask different questions about the grooming so we could both be on the same page, and Shacky could be comfortable. After his groom, we were incredibly pleased to hear that he was fine around other dogs and even gave them loads of kisses. Although they needed two people to cut nails ( sorry grooming team!) They remained positive and truthful about the groom, which we appreciated. He also came out super calm and relaxed! With other groomers, he always came out shaking, sparking concern.
Thankyou once again Barkley!

Pickle has attended daycare at Barkley for over a year now after graduating from the puppy school. We were taught the skills we needed to best support our pup from the start and had the support to discuss specifics we needed help with. We adored hearing about her friends and seeing photos from her day on the facebook page. Pickle LOVES daycare and her aunties and even when we started working from home we kept a regular booking as a treat day for her. She loves the show too and seeing her friend Bartok helping yet another rescue. Thanks Barkley!

I had the pleasure of working with Ritz to help with my energetic and sometimes stubborn Cavoodle, Daisy. From the moment we started our training sessions, it was clear that Ritz was not only highly knowledgeable but also incredibly patient and passionate about what they do.

Under their guidance, Daisy’s behavior improved significantly. Ritz used positive reinforcement techniques that made learning fun for Daisy and easy for me to continue training at home. They tailored the training to Daisy’s specific needs and temperament, which I greatly appreciated.

Not only did Daisy become a better-behaved dog, but our bond also grew stronger thanks to the effective training methods. Ritz provided clear instructions, helpful tips, and ongoing support, which made the entire training process a positive and rewarding experience.

Our dog did agility training at Akarana. The trainer was knowledgeable, helpful and supportive through the process. My dog had a terrible experience while attending obedience classes at Akarana. He was attacked and bitten by the trainer’s dog. I asked for a refund for the balance of classes and Akarana obliged but it remains concerning to me that the trainer and this organisation feel comfortable enough to train other people’s dogs when they can’t keep their own dog from biting a puppy in an unprovoked attack.

Jonathan is amazing! He helped me so much with my two nervous dogs. One has complex emotional needs, and Jonathan was incredibly patient and invested in helping her. Thank you so much for helping our family find some peace again! We highly recommend Jono’s CLICK training programme.

When my husband and I brought our new baby home, our rescue dog, Bailey, struggled with the sudden change. Very quickly, she went from being a contented dog to an anxious and sometimes defiant dog who was trying to assert her dominance. My husband and I were already overwhelmed with our new baby and didn’t know how to tackle the problem – thank goodness we found Jono.

Over the course of one 90-minute session, Jono was able to understand Bailey’s behaviour and teach us a range of clear, practical strategies to give her more structure and make her feel secure. We were surprised to see how quickly her behaviour began to change following the session, and we really appreciated how supportive and non-judgemental Jono was throughout. He really made the effort to understand our family circumstances and routines, and find solutions that were practical for us.

Thank you again, Jono! We are so relieved.

We absolutely LOVED working with Jono,
We love our dog Gus so much so it was difficult dealing with his bad behaviour, he was barking at anything that walked by the house and taking him for walks was so hard. He always pulls and no matter what we have tired it hasn’t worked. After one session we noticed a dramatic difference. I love how Jono took the time to help us understand what was happening for Gus from his point of view, so it just clicked for all of us. Also the techniques we got taught were easy and simple to do. Since working with Jono Gus’s behaviour has changed so much and it’s such a relief. I wish we had worked with Jono sooner.
We booked him Gus in for a Solo session after that which helped us even further and we really loved the video content we got back with our “homework” to work on. Was a real time saver. Highly recommend Click! Thank you so much Jono.

I enrolled my 10 week old puppy Ranger here after reading a lot of good reviews of the place.

Since puppy was in a critical learning stage I wanted to socialise him with other dogs in a safe way as soon as possible. At the Puppy Nursery they keep puppies who are of similar ages with each other and they interact, learn and play in a safe space. It is also a plus that puppy doesn’t have to have completed all their vaccinations but can still start socialising with other fully vaccinated dogs.

Ranger absolutely loved going to the Nursery and got a long well with the other dogs as well as his Nursery Nannies.

He is a well socialised and happy puppy who has no issues with meeting new people and dogs. I believe that attending the Puppy Nursery was extremely beneficial to his development and learning.

We are so appreciative of the amazing love, care and skill of the Puppy Nannies! We bought our pup before Level 4 lockdown and we weren’t sure how we would be able to socialise him safely with other dogs because of lockdown levels! We booked Monty into Puppy Nursery and he was shy and timid pup of other dogs but with the help of the Nannies Anna & Skye he soon learnt how to play! He graduated super confident and with a best friend (which is super cute). As a first time puppy owner who NEVER thought she would ever send a puppy/dog to doggy daycare, I have done a 180 and can not sing their praise enough! If you want a well mannered, well socialised, well cared for pup while you work to get them yummy treats, then look no further than Puppy Nursery at Barkley! A photo of our (not so little anymore) Monty that we got as an update from the Nannies!

I am so glad I found The Puppy Nursey when bringing our little Ruby into our lives. Ruby was a sensitive and shy puppy in her first few weeks with us. The Puppy Nursey really bought her out of her shell and she is now a very social and sassy little lady. Rubys nursery nannies Anna and Skye are amazing and you can really tell they love and care for all the puppies that come into their care. Ruby is always excited to go into Nursey and I think her time at the Nursey has really set her up for life and helped bring out her personality. Ruby also had an overnight stay with Skye and she had the best time! It really took the stress away from leaving her for the first time knowing that Ruby already knew Skye and was in great care. I also love all the updates and photos you get as its so nice to see your puppy having the time of their lives playing with all their new friends.

Our pup Bug started with the Nursery with the Nursery Nannies Anna and Skye in early August. We got her quite a bit later than the desirable 8 week mark, and then entered a lock-down, so we were looking at a socially-deficient, timid and shy 1.8kg pup. We applied to the Nursery via their online portal, and were promptly contacted by Anna who fit us in the coming Monday. We anxiously took our tiny shy and cold puppy in for her first day. Anna met with us that morning ahead the ‘school’ day starting, allowed Bug to explore/sniff and acquaint herself with the space at her own pace and while we were still there. She explained the process with the play/rest/play/rest and that they have a focus on manners (all 4 paws on the ground for a treat etc) and answered all of our nervous questions. After her first session we received a report card, like real ECE style, with photos with her friends, doing activities, and some notes of the manners she could work on. Nursery quickly became Bug’s favourite place to go, with her perking up as we enter the Barkley Manor and a excited sprint up the stairs to see Aunty Anna. We’ve met other wonderful friends that attended The Puppy Nursery, ones that we see regularly outside of Barkley for walks and plays.

The Puppy Nursery is consistent, reliable, responsible and welcoming.

We recommend Anna and The Puppy Nursery to everyone with a puppy. Not only does Nursery day mean we can do chores and work confidently knowing Bug is enjoying herself, but it’s also been crucial for her dog social skills and developing trust in other humans. And, as a bonus, they upload some cute photos and videos on Instagram of the pup’s antics during the day.

The people who work there are so warm and lovely with the puppies it’s amazing. We joined Caz’s puppy classes with our pup Charlie, who’s our first fur baby. Honestly, we were clueless about doggy behaviour, but Caz was amazing at breaking it all down for us. She made it crystal clear what good behaviour looked like and why Charlie was acting up sometimes.

I even brought my 9-year-old to the second class so he could learn the ropes too. Caz didn’t just focus on the pups; she made sure us humans, young and old, got it too. Now, my kid’s all excited about practicing the lessons at home with Charlie.

Caz’s classes have been a game-changer for us. Charlie’s making progress, and we’re feeling more confident as dog parents. If you’re looking for a down-to-earth trainer who really knows her stuff, Caz is your go-to.

What fantastic fun skills I learnt to help grow the relationship with my pup. His focus has grown so much and I love my new fun, positive training techniques. Caz has fantastic knowledge and is so helpful applying this to all the participants situations. Our class was small enabling loads of one on one attention. So awesome to see the growth of all the pups at the end of the classes. And having the option of others classes is so awesome!!
