This is the best Krav Maga school in Auckland — and likely in New Zealand. I’ve trained here for several years and have come to appreciate the coaches’ systematic approach, their thoughtful selection of techniques to drill, and their focus on self-defense in a very broad sense.

It’s not just a bag of magic tricks you can pick up on YouTube. You learn a set of tools refined over time, along with the knowledge of when and how to use them. And, of course, you get plenty of opportunities to drill them against different opponents, in different situations, and under varying levels of stress.

At 54 yrs of age I decided to learn Krav Maga. Is it hard, damn right it is, but is it worth it, absolutely and completely. Learning how to protect yourself is a must in this day and age, and krav maga definitely teaches you that. There is more hard work ahead but I am glad my daughter and I both decided to take this up.
glamorouswitch shaniks Wellness Hair & Beauty Hub (☆ 5/5)
glamorouswitch shaniks Wellness Hair & Beauty Hub (☆ 5/5)
It was an absolute good experience!
Highly recommended to any new learners!

Firstly, the stuff we learned was super practical. It ain’t like those rigid martial arts styles that stick to fixed moves. This one focuses on real-life combat situations. I picked up some seriously cool skills like how to dodge attacks, lock up an opponent, and even do ground fighting. At first glance, these skills might seem easy-peasy, but when you actually try to use them, you realize you need lightning-fast reflexes and some serious strength. But that’s the beauty of it! we need through loads of practice to get the right reaction

Another thing is the part of the adjustment of psychological. The course taught me how to stay calm when danger’s lurking around the corner. This has been a game-changer for me. I used to close my eyes when the punches were coming when I just joined the boxing class, but now I can keep my cool and make the right moves. It really drove home the importance of self-defence, and I feel so much more confident dealing with potential threats.

Now, let’s talk about the instructors. Luby and Joel are the real MVPs! Their classes were always engaging and had the perfect rhythm. They knew just how to break down the complex stuff and make it easy for new learners like me to understand. And the classmates, the practice atmosphere among us was just amazing. We all pushed each other to get better, and it was a lot of fun along the way.

Overall, if you’re looking for a martial art that’s practical, fun, and gives you a real boost in confidence, this course is the way to go.

Unmatched Coaching for Kids – Truly One of a Kind!

Dilmurodov BJJ Gym is hands down the best place for kids to learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu! What sets this gym apart is the way Coach Dilmurodov works with children — it’s on a whole different level from any other BJJ training out there. His ability to connect with each child, build their confidence, and teach with patience, discipline, and genuine care is nothing short of inspiring.

He doesn’t just teach techniques; he teaches mindset, respect, resilience, and teamwork. The progress I’ve seen in the kids here — both on and off the mats — is incredible. Coach has a gift for bringing out the best in every student, no matter their age or ability.

If you’re looking for a BJJ gym where your child will grow physically, mentally, and emotionally under the guidance of a truly passionate and skilled coach, this is it. Dilmurodov BJJ Gym is something special, and we’re lucky to be part of it!

I have trained at this gym a few times now and honestly it is a vibe. Coach Aziz and the whole crew are absolute legends. Everyone is welcoming and friendly, but don’t let the friendly faces fool you, these people train hard. The talent here is no joke, the classes are top-tier, and the technique? Razor sharp.

Aziz somehow manages to be both a top-tier coach and the guy who will roast you mid-round just to make you laugh while you are dying of cardio. If you want to level up your game and have a blast doing it, this is the spot.

Highly recommend—just don’t forget to bring your A-game… and maybe an extra towel.

Hi there. I’m 63 year old and have been training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu at Alliance Jiu Jitsu Auckland for the past 6-7 years. I’ve been very fortunate to have found a martial arts school that promotes and encourages older folks to have a go in a safe and measured environment. **Review for Fikaa Gym Manukau**

Fikaa Gym Manukau has poor management and outdated equipment. Most dumbbells lack outer rubber coating, and the gym mats are torn and neglected. Hygiene is a significant issue, with tricep ropes smelling bad. Despite complaints to the former manager Cam, nothing has improved.

The gym’s positives are its spacious layout, lack of crowds, and excellent classes where trainers give their best effort, even with only 1-2 attendees. However, significant improvements are needed before I can recommend this gym.

Update: September 2024
We got new ropes, new mats and ropes in the gym.
Will give extra stars now… from 1 to 4.
Still lots of improvements need to be done.

Cheers

Thank you Tukakha gym family. You guys give me nice memories me and my wife.

I love this gym, the people are friendly and the vibes are great. I started Jiu Jitsu for self defence, but got hooked on how engaging it is pretty quickly. As an ex gym girly, this is no doubt the most fun way to stay in shape, the self defence aspect is now just an added bonus. The Birkenhead mats are also amazing!

I trained in most bjj school on the shore. I can say here you can truly develop your game that suits you. Gym is open 24/7 you can organize your time if you want to train with your training partner. Here in black knights Ricardo us very good professor who is bit open minded then any other gym as long as you don’t hurt your training partner you can practice position and submission that are deemed and prohibited. This is good learning environment.

Having just relocated to New Zealand, I was looking to do BJJ for something new to learn and get involved in. What I didn’t realise was the culture they have at Black Knights where you are surrounded by welcoming, motivating and interesting individuals who push you without discouraging.

The experience(s) from start and continue to throughout is exceptionally excellent. Coaches are on point with knowledge passed onto our young children/students to gain confidence, and put to practice self defense, receiving positive life long lessons, strengthened physically, mentally & spiritually having fun all in one, I must say we’re very blessed, grateful to be a part of this team, training here in the heart of our home town Mangere 275, at Clinch BJJ, Akl Nz. Many thanks to the owner (Karl Norton) for giving us this opportunity, enabling us to come together to train in an awesome environment and given the chance to train in the atmosphere of fantastic coaches! Much love, support and many blessings from Susana, Athena and myself.

Did a drop-in for the Sun kickboxing class and really enjoyed it. The Coach was great at breaking down the skills, and correcting technique. The members were very humble and down to earth. The facility is super clean and they have all gear there in shop for newbies. If you’re passing through on way to airport , cannot recommend this place enough for a drop-in. If you live in surrounding areas (You’re lucky )This is the place to join if you are looking for Kickboxing, BJJ, Self Defence or just plain fitness. Big Thank you to the Coach and I will definitely be dropping in again. ‍♂️

Awesome gym. Great coaches and team atmosphere. Started out 180kgs with all sorts of health issues looking for a way out of the slump. Clinch was a good place to challenge myself fitness wise/ mental wise while learning martial arts. As challenging as each day is , it gets better and better as you go. After 30kgs down and to 150kgs and brighter outlook and determination built during time at ClINCH Sadly departing the gym due to family relocation. So if you’re looking for a challenge , new start, something new, martial arts give CLINCH A GO.
