Flowers After Hours

Lady on the phone when ordering the flowers was nice… but what was delivered was the poorest looking flowers I’ve ever seen. Half of them were dead or wilting and delivered in what looked like a paper cup with the plastic bag over them. I paid $150 including delivery… so probably about $130 total for the bunch from Parnell FAH for my mother. I actually could not believe the state the flowers were delivered in. Some of the stems were snapped. And while this may have happened during the delivery, this does not account for the wilted snap dragons and greenery. The bunch was made up only 1-2 hours before they were delivered and arrived in this state. When I sent an email to complain I was offered only $60 credits off my next bunch. The bunch I paid for $130! Apparently there were some expensive flowers in the bunch that looked ok… however, I did not ask for half a bunch of expensive flowers and half a bunch of dead/broken flowers. I asked for $60 to be refunded to my account not as store credit as I will not be ordering from here again.

Parnell branch Needed a last minute bouquet delivered on the outskirts of Auckland and Flowers after Hours was the florist for the job. They did an absolutely beautiful job and they were extremely patient and accommodating with me. I made an error with the address but they sorted it out for me. 10/10 for product and service.

Lunn Ave New World Branch We walked in on 24 Nov 2024 and placed an order for 10 Dec 2024. We told the lady our colour preference, budget and pointed out a style of the bouquet I wanted. We paid in advance and when we went to pick up on the 10th, the same lady was there and said there was no order for today. She looked through her orders and found that she put the wrong date—24 Dec. I don’t know if this was an issue with the language barrier but she never gave us an order confirmation so the only receipt that we had was the payment through New World. She quickly made the bouquet but it was not in the style we had pointed out when we first ordered. If you decide that u want to order a bouquet from here, make sure you get a written note and confirm all the details.

Great experience, fast service despite the busy period. Staff were responsive, discussed my budget, flower and colour preference and was out within 15 mins with some beautiful flowers. Received another bouquet later that evening as a wonderful surprise, was equally as beautiful. No damage noted and all flowers were fresh.

For the busiest day of the year and a storefront that looked like a war zone, solid effort. I know it’s Mother’s Day, but I did specially email (was ignored) AND call beforehand to make sure they knew for sure I needed it before 9:30am (with a 10 minute buffer). Arrived at 9:40am and they had not even started on the order… so we had already paid and just waited until it was done. Flowers made, we are definitely late now but at least they look pretty good.

Ordered $200.00 of Mother’s Day flowers to be delivered between 11am and 2pm on Sunday. It’s now Tuesday night and the flowers have still not arrived, no apology, no refund, and no mention of when the flowers might possibly even turn up… Everyone appreciates that a day like Mother’s Day would be one of the busiest days of the year, however it is not a customer’s responsibility to manage this. If you have taken on too much work that you cannot even provide the product at all, and cannot return emails, this is a business problem. Extremely disappointing.

I’ve shopped here in the past, but during my most recent visit, I chose not to make a purchase. Despite being the only customer in the store, the staff made no effort to acknowledge me or offer assistance. After reading similar feedback from others, it seems this lack of customer service is not a one-off experience. I prefer to support businesses where staff are welcoming and attentive basic courtesy like a simple "hello" goes a long way. Instead, I took my business to Simply Flowers on Benson Road in Remuera, where I happily spent $200 on a beautiful bouquet. Their range is far more impressive, and their team greeted me warmly and collaborated to design the perfect arrangement.
