Freedom - Newmarket

Absolutely love this store! Every section feels like a perfectly styled living space, which really helps you to picture how everything would look at home. The attention to detail in the setup made the shopping experience really enjoyable. Prices were great, with lots of offers and promotions. The staff are so helpful, patient, and genuinely interested in making sure you leave happy. Can’t recommend it enough.

Great service by the furniture department team and team manager. We purchased our full couch set, coffee table and floor lamp from the new market branch few weeks back. We were given exceptional service by a young lady from the furniture side and great assistance by the team manager who was quick to get furniture moved around for us across within the store for us to make a decision. Great deals, good service, good quality.

Extremely Frustrated with Misleading Sale Normally, I wouldn’t leave a review like this—especially as someone who shops frequently at these stores—but I’m extremely frustrated. As soon as I saw that Freedom had the Corte Ceiling Pendant on sale, I jumped at the opportunity and drove to Sylvia Park to purchase two. To my disappointment, they had none in stock—only the floor display model. I asked if I could purchase that one, I was then told it was listed as end-of-line, and was told no and advised to try other stores. I called around to multiple locations and was met with the same response: out of stock, and they wouldn’t sell the display models. Three weeks later, I noticed the same light still being advertised on sale, so I tried my luck again and called the Newmarket store—only to be told, once again, that it’s end-of-line and not available. If the item is no longer available to purchase, why is it still being advertised as on sale? It’s incredibly frustrating and feels misleading. Freedom needs to do better with their stock management and communication around discontinued products. (Update) Now, after almost two months of chasing this item, I finally see it’s available online to purchase. I’ve placed my order, but it really shouldn’t have taken this much effort.

My favourite Freedom store in Auckland! Beautifully presented! The staff were knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful! We purchased a mattress and homewares for our home and chose their quick ship program sofa which delivered the product in just 1-2 weeks. Delivery was great too. The entire experience was seamless and exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend!

Love their products but they were a bit disorganized at Newmarket with my call and collect order. Was notified that my order was ready to collect only to drive all the way out there to find out that one of the items was out of stock. The Silvia Park store sorted everything out for me with no hassle.

Not sure why this place has such a low star rating because we were absolutely blown away by the service. First time customers. The manager went absolutely above and beyond to resolve an issue, and we didn’t spend much, it was on a clearance item and despite telling him that we would completely understand if he just gave us back our money he refused and insisted on resolving. But also, every single staff member that we bumped into, was friendly, smiled and greeted us. Even the guys in the stock room. I think each persons experience will differ depending on one’s attitude and energy being given to the staff. Smiles and kindness goes both ways.
