I just went to new zealand 2 weeks ago and this shop was recommended to me and my bf. We absolutely loved all the clothing and the staff was amazing! Casey and Danni where absolutely the sweetest people we met and helped us pick out gifts for our loved ones, this will forever be one of my favorite experiences going to NZ.

To any Auckland visitors in search of quality woolen products from merino wool baby booties (purchased by a friend for her first grandchild) to top name jumpers or sweaters (purchased by me) you must make a stop at Great Kiwi Yarns. The quality of service is second to none. Anne jumped through a number of hoops arranging to have a sweater delivered to my hotel the day before I headed back home from vacation. The pricing for these name brands is comparable (if not better) to other stores throughout the north and south islands but without the variety and atmosphere at Great Kiwi Yarns.

Omgggg, such an awesome store. The staff is helpful and kind. They helped me to choose a nice jacket which l want to wear it every day. The product is really good quality. I never heard of the possum merino before. It is just amazing. Very light and warm. The important part is that it doesn't pill. Thank goodness. I hate my sweater pilling.
And l compared prices in different stores. I can say this one is really good. Highly recommend!

Such a lovely store sells beautiful possum merino knitwear. Warm cosey and also classic styles suit for everyone. Super friendly service too. Love to support local business like great kiwi yarns.

had an amazing experience at this shop and would definitely recommend it if you're looking for something unique and made in New Zealand. The staff were knowledgeable and provided a clear explanation of what Possum Merino is! 🙂

Everything in this shop is of the highest quality. The moment I walked in I was welcomed with a friendly greeting and smile. The helpful saleswoman was very knowledgeable and helped me understand the differences between all the different knits. I bought several gifts for friends and two gorgeous sweaters for myself. It's not the cheapest store but the quality was top notch. I'm sure my items will last many years. It will be my first stop for knitwear when I'm back in AKL.

I bought two sweaters here in 2024 and later received a 15% discount certificate for return business via e mail. I returned in February 2025 and purchased three more sweaters. I showed the 15% discount certificate with a view to claiming the benefit. The assistant looked at it on my phone, claimed to have no knowledge of this but went off to consult with someone. On her return she asked to see the certificate again but it had magically disappeared. How this occurred I know not. Needless to say, I was given no discount. So, buy from them by all means but be very cautious, if not to say suspicious, regarding their business practices.
