This place is pretty central but that's where the posatives stop. We booked it for 6 nights but couldn't stay more than two.
On the first night I was struggling to sleep because the room was so hot and there was a very strong BO and foot smell. I was also woken by someone screaming outside the hostel for whatever reason.
My partner and myself wanted to be in a room together so we booked a mixed dorm and in a 'backpackers' there is more of a chance that you would be sharing with men and women, but I was the only female in that room and I was left sharing a bunk with someone else other than my partner which wasn't ideal. We are in Asia now and even in the worst places (not even that bad) they have put us together, and the mixed dorms have actually been mixed.
There are so many other things I could say about this place but honestly it's all said in the other bad reviews. I'll end with saying that they need to rip the carpet up and burn it... And so many other things.
We thought the staff were nice and helpful but after hounding them for a month for a refund for the 4 nights we didn't stay I don't think so highly of them anymore. More recently guilt tripping us by saying that they don't normally do refunds! Well we got the refund (about $10 short) and I can say I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Absolutely dreadful experience. As a female traveler, I felt unsafe from the moment I entered the building. The staff at reception were the only positive, but that was short-lived. As we walked to our room, the smell was unbearable, and the whole place had the grim atmosphere of a prison ward. When we finally got to our room, we found it was being occupied by people who appeared to be living there permanently. The noise at night was horrendous, with music blaring from outside and people shouting, making it impossible to sleep. The room itself was sweltering and the kitchen was in such a filthy, unhygienic condition that we didn't dare cook there and had to eat out. We couldn't stand it any longer and left early. This place is not a hostel—it's more like a homeless shelter. I would strongly advise against staying here unless you want to feel unsafe, uncomfortable, and completely dissatisfied with your stay

Get what you pay for innit. It's cheap and cheerful but really dirty. The staff are really friendly and welcoming. Location is perfect if you are wanting to use the amenities of the city to get set up for a WHV or otherwise, showers were hot and clean. Kitchen was hard to cook and eat in as it was really not the cleanest, don't wanna slate the place too much as it seems the problem is not with the staff but with the people using the accommodation.
P. S we got a private room which I'm so thankful for, walking past a couple of the dorm rooms and they smelled so bad, like sweaty ass bad

The other reviews aren't wrong - the room we were given kinda stank like b.o and immense sadness, it initially didn't feel safe with all the weird people outside the front door and in the alleyway where we parked. Staff were super nice and helpful, despite the miserable environment they're forced to work in.
My advice: if you're gonna stay here, have fun all night until you're tired enough to fall into a stinky bunk and fall asleep immediately next to your bags.
Like, you won't get robbed or anything but who knows, best of luck if you stay here. At least it's cheap and in the middle of the city.

Location is the only positive...
No one has respect for each other's spaces in this place, zero care if you're asleep, they'll turn the lights on and make noises, rooms smell absolutely horrid, not to mention the people who drink from night till day break, then continue early hours of morning, not to mention that people take drugs on the premise, people talking loudly on their phone outside the bedroom or in room after midnight is a joke, if you need somewhere to sleep, this isn't the place for you. Not to mention the dorms are jammed with heaps of beds, zero ventilation and no air-conditioning or fans..i do not recommend this place at all..kitchen is absolutely diabolical, I do not feel safe...I have asked for a quieter room but was denied...

One Night in the Hostel from Hell
I stayed just one night, and that was more than enough. What looked like a budget hostel turned out to be more like a haunted nursing home. At night, on my way to the bathroom, I ran into a man around 70 years old walking calmly through the hallway wearing only a t-shirt—no pants, no underwear. He was muttering to himself, totally spaced out, until suddenly he turned and started talking to me. I didn’t wait to find out what he wanted—I rushed into my room and shut the door like I was escaping a horror scene.
Later that night, I went out to get some water and saw an elderly woman sitting in the hallway, trembling. She stayed there late into the night, staring at you as you walked by, like she was trapped between dimensions. The whole place had an eerie, unsettling vibe.
It was dirty, dark, and clearly neglected. Worst of all, when I explained my experience and asked for a refund, the staff basically implied that I was the problem—that I "didn't know how to share common spaces." Absolutely ridiculous.
I’ll never go back. If you’re looking for rest, avoid this place. But if you’re in the mood for a geriatric ghost story, be my guest—but don’t say you weren’t warned.

Good location but everything felt it could do with a clean. There is enough space in the bedrooms for 4 people. However the kitchen needs more space for storing food and general cooking.
