When the store opened at 9am this morning, I was the first customer. I was greeted warmly by a staff member who was very kind and willing to help me find the dress I was looking for as a Mother’s Day gift for my mother. The size I wanted was not on display, but the staff was very helpful and kind enough to look at the back stock room for the size dress I wanted. Thank God, there was stock in the size I wanted. I had a great experience overall, and the staff was really helpful in processing my order at checkout. I would absolutely shop here again and highly suggest this store to anyone searching for nice, high-quality Polynesian clothes. The customer service is immaculate.

This wonderful vintage store houses the most insane and unique pieces. It is unhealthy and unwise for me to enter this shop as I will most definitely spend too much money. For anyone complaining about items being overpriced, this is a vintage store, not to be confused with a thrift store. The items sold here are original and valuable. This is the place to pick out a statement item that will stay in your closet forever and be passed down to your children and your children’s children (or sold to another vintage store).
The reason I was inclined to write a review for this lovely shop is because I was having no buy guilt over a gorgeous patchwork leather jacket. I left it behind and immediately regretted it, but I was already on my way out of town. I DMed Vixen’s instagram page asking if they could hold it aside for me until I got back. They responded with haste and said it would be no problem. Sure enough, a week later, the jacket was hanging right behind the counter waiting for me. I am so impressed by Kowtow’s recent repair service – the dress I bought two years ago started slightly ripping under one arm, and I thought it might be the end of my favourite dress. I emailed the Kowtow team with photos and told me they could fix it for free if I posted the dress to them! It’s a stunning piece that I always thought of as an investment that has paid off. It was a few hundred dollars, but I wear it to work, out with dressier shoes, and always look fabulous and feel comfortable. Love this label. The quality of the cotton I’ve found really good, consistent, reasonable weight, holds its shape and doesn’t shrink (when you follow the instructions). Staff are lovely and helpful and it’s also great that the sizes are generous meaning a wide range of shapes and sizes can fit this label. This year I’ve noticed a different weight of cotton “summer weight”, I’m yet to wear the dress and trial how the cotton stands up to wear but there’s nothing that would make me think it wasn’t going to be good.

Walking into the store on a seemingly quite yet consistent day, I was assisted and styled by Jaz, who provided the most amazing customer service and styling advice. I shared my brief and also that I was intentionally window shopping, and she served me to the same standard that she would to purchasing customers. Jaz is a Kowtow ambassador and shows the same integrity that the label does. Preferring to shop sustainably, she was never pushy and encouraged me to take my time and mull over my choices. I will certainly be coming back to purchase my items. It is both so lovely to wear good quality, well sourced clothing as much as it is to support businesses who have excellent employees. Bought a pair of sunglasses from Dior for $900. Terrible quality, the lenses mark straight away after 10 mins of wear and look like they have oil all over them. Christian Dior took them into their Auckland store, cleaned them and sent them back. When the problem persisted, they sent them to France, who also said there’s nothing they can do. Have never had such an awful pair of glasses and cannot believe they have the audacity to call this a ‘luxury’ product. Raybans or glassons sunglasses are far better. Avoid!

Went here for the first time. I was hesitant to go because of the bad reviews but glad I went there! Bought my first lady dior dream bag and luckily got the only color I want from the recent cruise collection.
Thanks Cherry for assisting me. I asked the SA to bring out a lot of colors because I couldn’t decide what to get and she was very patient. The guard was very well mannered too and very welcoming.

I bought a mini lady Dior bag from them. Their official website shows it is made in Italy. The one I got is made in France. The manager called me regarding to my concern. But She started with they didn’t do anything wrong which makes me feel uncomfortable. She told me they do have production line in France. I ask her why their official website shows it is made in Italy, but didn’t show or made in France. She said “but it also didn’t show only made in Italy. “How rediculous! She explained this is a new production line to make the mini lady Dior. And France produce better quality bags. I choose to trust her. But when I carefully check my bag, I found the leather on the right hand side of the bag is different from the other three sides. There is CD engraved at back right hand side, the D is not complete. One clasp has wider side gap and opening gap than another. The inside surface of charms are not very smooth. The dusting bag is made in India. Please see photos attached. If anyone bought a mini lady Dior bag that is made in France, please let me know. Thanks!

Love this shop. I’m now only size 12 but continue to go to this shop as I’m 5’8″ and their smaller sizes still fit me and suit taller people. Their range is exquisite and stylish and I always get a lot of comments when wearing their pieces. Their sales have also been good. I used to go to the Wellington shop where they are lovely now frequenting the Newmarket store. My favourite brands are Jason Lingard, Pq and also Maaike.
