The staff here are absolutely wonderful. My dog went in with a serious leg injury just before New Years. Staff were very helpful and caring towards my dog. He’s been back multiple times for checks up and loves visiting his “friends”. Some dogs would be traumatized after going through an ordeal but he’s not thanks to their amazing care.
Picture of my dog with his decorated leg cast. Staff there are talented in crafts too!

From the moment we arrived, we were met with professionalism, compassion, and genuine concern for Cookie’s well-being. The veterinarians demonstrated remarkable expertise in diagnosing and treating Cookie, ensuring that every step of the medical process was handled with precision and care. Meanwhile, the nurses went above and beyond in providing comfort, patiently tending to Cookie’s needs and offering reassurance to us during this difficult time.
It was evident that your team truly cares for every animal that comes through your doors, treating them not just as patients but as cherished family members. Your kindness, patience, and attention to detail made a world of difference, and we are deeply grateful for the unwavering support and encouragement you provided.
Thank you once again for your dedication and hard work. Cookie is on the road to recovery because of your outstanding care, and we will always be appreciative of everything you have done.

Dr Kate was excellent for a tired and stressed out dog parent. Lucky it was all good with our boy. The process was smooth. She was kind, friendly, understanding, communicative and empathetic. Thank you so much for your help.
Anand Segar (☆ 5/5)

Recently I braved the cold and dark with my Labrador to get a sore eye looked at. I was dreading this unscheduled emergency vet visit, but it was a genuine pleasure from beginning to end. At 4 am, the phone was answered promptly, and clear and simple directions provided. When I arrived, the receptionist was warm, friendly and welcoming. There was no queue. The vet was kind, professional, and explained every step of the examination process in a way that included me and kept me informed. Most importantly you could tell she really loved animals, apologizing for the lack of treats and heading off the the kitchen to fetch some chicken to reward my dog for his good behaviour!
The environment was clean, speaking, light, bright and welcoming – not a given at that hour of the morning. There was a delightful video on how to give pills to cats to keep us entertained and informed while we waited. After the consultation, clinical notes and invoice were emailed to me promptly, and I received a follow-up text a day later asking how me dog was progressing.
This a service from the heart, and though one never wants to visit the emergency vet, it’s good to know my next experience will be a supportive and positive one.
Ten out of ten to the team!

With our very nervous Bailey the team at ARC we’re nothing but professional, friendly and caring. Im so happy with how things have gone, from the referral to the treatment plan. I feel like Bailey is in the best hands with experienced vets who know what they’re doing.

Thank you to the wonderful caring staff at ARC North. We recently needed to take our cat into ARC North for emergency attention. The staff were very professional and really cared about our cat and ensured that I was kept informed throughout the process. I am very thankful that ARC North is available to us especially on weekends and public holidays when our normal vet is not available. A great purpose-built facility, with professional and caring staff. Keep up the wonderful work that you do.

I highly recommend this clinic! Our much loved family cat Milo broke his leg (and we didn’t have pet insurance) – Rachel stepped in and offered us a much more affordable option than elsewhere in Auckland and her care for Milo was exceptional. She has a real love for animals and is such a star! Our new regular vet clinic

I had not taken my dog Izzy here for quite some years as I moved out of the area, and Izzy also had not needed to go.
However, when she tore a ligament in her knee last Xmas, I decided to return to Mangere Vet Clinic even though I am living in Mt Wellington now.
I was very happy with the vet who treated Izzy, the care provided, and the cost also. Two weeks ago, unfortunately, Izzy had a stroke, and so we returned again and again had wonderful advice and treatment of Izzy by the vet. Sadly after a week back home to see how she would go, Izzy deteriorated further and after 12 beautiful years we said goodbye and she went to doggie heaven. I thank all staff at Mangere Veterinary Clinic for looking after Izzy, so well and huge thanks to Rachel, who upon my picking up Izzy’s ashes, showed me and Izzy absolute respect, compassion, and empathy which was unexpected but very much appreciated. Many thanks from Andrea and Izzy ❤️❤️
Andrea (☆ 5/5)

I called this place to try to book an appointment, and the lady who answered was extremely rude! She kept changing her story about needing to be a client before we could book an appointment, then said the next appointment availability was months away. Not a nice way to treat customers! She ended up abruptly hanging up the phone on us.
If someone can be so rude to you, imagine how they would treat your pet while you’re not there.
Jordan McFall (☆ 1/5)

Fantastic community vet care provided by amazing caring staff. Highly recommend

I have been with this Vet for the past 30 years! I don’t normally write reviews. Rachel may rub some people the wrong way, I see her as a knowledgeable person when it comes to ALL things to do with ANIMALS! She deeply cares for our animals, and if there was anyone I wanted to be in my corner because of her extensive knowledge and empathy toward my pet it would definitely be Rachel! Thanks Rachel and the team, love your work!
Kitty (☆ 5/5)

Vets are good here. Very helpful and friendly especially the senior vets. Take time out for questions.
For how busy this place is, it’s poorly managed though. Lack of proper medication. Lack of xrays/scans for dogs.
They flip flop between pricing as they wish. One time something can cost $300 per the vet and then main lady might decide to increase prices.
The worst thing about this vet is the women running it. Even the employees seem afraid for her. She is pretty rude. Condescending and not really friendly. Hopefully she’s friendly to animals behind closed doors.
Have been coming here for a year but recently decided to leave because of management.
Lucazade (☆ 2/5)

The service was fantastic the advise and check over was good. they have been a huge help with my cat and dog. I recommend this vet for all pet needs

I CAN NOT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!!!
This is my usual vet for my boy, has been for years.
After being f’d around by another vet with my girl and being told I should consider letting her go, William told me to bring her in so he could check her out.
He has a good look over her and says “yep, I can do that for ya, bring her in on Tuesday”
JUST LIKE THAT!!!
My girl now has no tumors! They are gone and I will get to enjoy more years with my baby all thanks to William and his team.
Cannot express how thankful and appreciative I am
Oh, and I live in the Kumeu/Riverhead area and travel all the way to Great South Vets and will continue to do so. Operating within days of her check over and saved me thousands compared to anywhere else, now that’s a vet!!!!
FNL LTD (☆ 5/5)

I took my dog to get desexed and microchipped, not even 24 hours later after being at the vet he dies. He was barely 2 years old and he passed. We called them to see what they could do and they said they could take him for 3 days to examine on Monday when they open and ONLY IF they feel like it’s their fault then they will “compensate” us. I’d rather take the loss of our money and grieve our dog. I wouldn’t recommend coming here.
Hazy Taka-Buskermolen (☆ 1/5)

Best place to have my bunnies desexed. Great price. Online booking system and notified date and times.
Kai T-Aki (☆ 5/5)

Great South Vets are consistently cheaper than any other vets for consultations, operations and medications. I’m very grateful for the walk in service also. This serves a great many animal patients and I couldn’t recommend them highly enough to everyone.
Angela Ritchie (☆ 4/5)

I was very very apprehensive to bring my dog here for her Spey reading all the reviews but i decided to go a head with it as it was within budget.I have a neutral response . Car parking is horrendous as it’s so packed , workers were okay one of them was about to inject my dog without informing me what she injecting had to stop her and ask what is was and what was its purpose. It was a sedative . To call for updates the phone was engaged I understand as the clinic is so busy once I got through the receptionist phone manner was poor needs to be worked on. Pick up I wasn’t given a run down on what to do for after care I was just handed a piece of paper to read through and given my dogs painkillers without any thorough instructions . Once again I had to ask to be informed on after care . though this place has so many bad reviews my dogs spey went well in the end eating and drinking as normal she was given painkillers and is on the mend!
Tutana Cummings (☆ 3/5)

My pup was spayed and was well looked after while there. Staff were very helpful.
Karen Marshall (☆ 5/5)

We took our 11 month old Labrastaff pup to get a neuter here on 25th March – it is now the 2nd of Apr and the incision is healing up amazingly, with no issues. Price was very reasonable, at over just $200 including an Elizabethen collar and 3 days worth of painkillers. Parking was a bit of a nightmare, only about 8 parking spaces, and as it’s such a busy vet, I didn’t get parking on dropoff. Parking was fine on pickup around 3pm. The staff weren’t rude, but could have definitely been a bit friendlier. Got a good run down of post op care with a printout on how to look after our pup after the neuter. He also came out of the vet smelling quite bad, although he’d had a bath the night before. But for the price, I’d definitely give my experience here 4 stars.

A great vet practice!
Have had our Burmese boy coming here since he was a little kitten.
He has had a couple of health scares with all the vets and nurses here being extremely kind and doing everything they could.
Also recently called late on an afternoon after a wasp eating incident and they didn’t have space but talked me through the risks and suggested other vets nearby that had late hours and could probably squeeze us in for an urgent appt.
I know sometimes their books get full, and it’s totally understandable why – they are fantastic!
Abby Bainbridge-Welch (☆ 5/5)

I’ve just received a call from glenfield veterinary clinic in Diana dr saying that if I don’t take down my review they will refuse to give medical care to my wee dog Charlie! So I asked if I would get an apology for being a used of not paying my bill when it had been paid weeks before my dogs appointment but I was still accused of not paying it so in front of a whole waiting room of people with their sick animals I had to scroll through my bank statements to prove to them yet again that it had been paid. Oh and btw my wee dog never got to see the vet after waiting in the car with my sick dog for what seemed like forever I left after 30 mins and took her to another vet who diagnosed her immediately. I had been taking her to Diana drive vet for 10 yrs without a proper diagnosis. So it pays to shop around just because a vet is cheap doesn’t mean they are going to get a diagnosis any time soon. So at the end of the day you get what you pay for if you want cheap that’s all you’ll get !

A RARE FIND – top notch service at good rates!
We are so glad that we moved into this area and tried out Glenfield Veterinary Clinic. Every time we have been in staff have been great with our wee furbaby, as well as discussing and explaining things well to us.
A bit like the dentist, sometimes a necessary evil, but one that it sure pays to be going somewhere you trust to make it as painless as possible in more ways than one! Thanks team, see you next time
Duncan Scott (☆ 5/5)

Took my daughters new kitten there on Wednesday for her vacation , the nurse did a full health check and even said she would check for fleas witch I agreed to because me and my daughter thought we had seen some on her a few days before and mouse with stratching her belly alot.
Anyway the vet looked at her back said she was clear and we would she them because she is a partly white cat.
Well guess what we were right she is covered in them I have just had to go by tablets etc for her as her next flea does is not due till the 25th of Feb as she was flead before we adopted her
I’m not happy at all mouse is only 15weeks and been suffering for fleas for at least a couple of weeks because of us being told that she was fine

I truly appreciated the care and compassion the team showed us. The vet was gentle, thorough, and took time to explain everything clearly despite the urgency. It was a very emotional time, but I felt reassured knowing my dog was in capable and kind hands. Thank you for supporting us through such a difficult moment.

The team did a really good job at taking our Taika in after he cut his paw badly during one of our walks. We were seen within 30-40mins by the vet (not long at all). but while waiting the nurses and reception made sure he had water and updated us on how far the vet was. When we were seen by the vet, he was clear and concise about the treatment and made sure to tell us all options (both good and bad) that were available. When we left him at the vet for his procedure, they also updated us when they were done and how our dog was doing. It’s been over 2months now and Taika’s paw has healed really well and our usual vet in ormiston also commended the Job that the emergency vet did and reassured us that they did a really good job and that they were happy with how the stitches were put in. Thank you so much (apologies we can’t remember the name of the vet or nurses that were on that day)

MAHVC have been incredible. When I first found my kitten Millie on the road, they saw us straight away and were so kind and thorough. More recently, they helped us say goodbye to our dog Ella with compassion, clarity, and care. They gave us time to make decisions and treated her with such gentleness. We were so touched to receive a card afterward with her paw prints and a lock of her fur, such a beautiful gesture from an emergency clinic. Thank you for everything.

Had to go there in an emergency with a very sick, much loved cat. They were the kindest, most sensitive humans I have ever come across. Respectful and gentle. They thought of everything we might need, and made space for the sorrow and pain of what faced us. They followed up after two weeks with the sweetest card. Bear in mind this was a one-off emergency visit. They did not know us at all. I am grateful for their support at that time.

I cannot praise Manukau After Hours team highly enough.
We ended up having to make that dreaded choice to say goodbye to our sweet girl and the care and empathy shown by the team was truly appreciated.
We had a good conversation with the vet, I felt well informed… we were not rushed and were given the time we needed to say goodbye.
It was, of course, a really hard visit…
I’d like to say a special thank you to vet nurse Lily who took the time to capture paw prints for us and they arrived yesterday.

Exceptional care and attention for our little boys
A very thorough exam by Vet Fiona, and our cats were very comfortable with her… which surprised me as they are usually very wary of strangers.

We have been receiving excellent care for our beloved dog, Tinky over the past 14 years. Tinky is now sadly gone and we notified the Vet about this. Just couple weeks after her passing we received a beautiful , handwritten card expressing sympathy for our loss. This last act we received from Blockhouse bay Vet is just simply heartwarming. Thank you team!

During a super stressful situation my partner arrived yesterday with no one in the waiting room and 3 people hanging about in the clinic and was wanting an appointment, advice, to buy ANY product he could, PAY anything he needed too.. he was super nice and was just wanting to see how he could help his doggo who he is caring for at the moment.. he was treated as though he was an inconvenience and like he was annoying, no advice, dismissive, rude. As a Practice Manager of a dental practice, I understand if someone comes in and doesn’t have an appt it’s hard, but I would always hope my staff would give advice, try hard to be kind, give directions for other places, have empathy, and sympathy. In the end it was Anal glands, very common apparently… Not helpful at all.

I recently visited the East Coast Bay Veterinary Clinic with my cat, who was experiencing some health issues. From the moment we walked in, the staff were incredibly welcoming and made us feel at ease.
The veterinarian who attended to my cat was absolutely fantastic. They took the time to thoroughly explain my cat’s condition, the treatment options, and the expected outcomes. I really appreciated their clear and compassionate communication style.
The clinic itself is well-equipped and spacious, with separate areas for cats and dogs. This was a big plus for me, as my cat can get quite stressed around dogs. The parking facilities were also ample and convenient.
What really impressed me, though, was the clinic’s extensive range of cat and dog food, toys, and other supplies. They had a vast array of products from various brands, which made it easy for me to find exactly what my cat needed.
Overall, my experience at the East Coast Bay Veterinary Clinic was outstanding. The staff were professional, knowledgeable, and genuinely caring. I would highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner seeking top-notch veterinary care. We’ll definitely be back!

We took our cat to get vaccinated. When the vet saw that she was aggressive, he suggested we rebook another appointment — even though we had already waited a month for this one! It’s quite normal for cats to be fearful or even aggressive when they see strangers, especially in unfamiliar places like a clinic. I don’t think she’s the only cat to behave this way in that environment.
After we insisted, he finally asked a nurse to hold her and gave the vaccine quickly, but he didn’t perform any health check on her at all.

These guys are seriously the real deal. We came for a laproscopic spey (as recommended by our usual vet) and the whole experience was incredible. The processes are slick, the team are lovely and everything is well thought through. I felt so confident leaving Bonnie knowing they would care for her in all aspects. Loved the photo update and the call to let me know she was out of surgery. Even the welcome sign at the desk with her name on it was so reassuring and cute. I have a very sleepy, happily healing and perfectly content little dog after today. THANK YOU GUYS

We recently travelled from Whangarei with our precious girl to get a laparoscopic spey done with ECB vets. We would highly recommend both the lap spey procedure and this vet clinic. The staff are wonderful, all processes were smooth and informative, & you wouldn’t even know our girl had surgery. She is straight back to her usual self with no signs of pain.
We especially loved the photo update we were sent while waiting to pick her up – such a nice touch. Special thanks to all involved with Maples care, she is doing very well ❤️

This clinic is an ISFM Cat friendly clinic and that is REALLY important- all clinics should be!!!! They are staying up to date with proper feline handling practices which results in less stress for your cat. Unfortunately the cat waiting room is still loud being next to the front desk and still close to the dog waiting area but the ‘cat parks’ are great as the cats cannot see any dogs and they provide cage covers if you don’t bring your own. They were more than happy to provide some calming medication for my girl to have at home before visiting to help reduce her stress. The way the vet and nurses handled my Daisy was gentle and caring. They let her come out of her carrier on her own, and if she didn’t they were going to remove the top of the carrier (which is correct practice- yay) to keep her as comfortable as possible. They did not scruff her (again correct practice- yay) and were very thorough in her exam- which I really appreciated as I’ve seen vets before who didn’t check her well and didn’t seem interested. We did bloods and a urinalysis which was really quick. They have followed up super well and it was all a super reasonable price too. Everyone should take their cats here. Daisy approves.

We have been bringing our little girl here since she was just a few months old. The care and support we have received from all members of the team has been outstanding every time! She has just had her spay, and is recovering so well. She is her usual happy, cuddly and playful self thanks to the efforts of the team. Thank you all for taking such good care of our Mei

One day, out of the blue, my humans took me to a strange place. It smelled of other creatures and mysterious potions. A lady called Dr. Olivia said I was cute (as she should), but then—outrageously—she grabbed me, opened my beak, poked me in suspicious places, and rotated me like some kind of inanimate object. Scandalous!
I didn’t protest (because I’m dignified like that), but I made sure to give my humans the look throughout the ordeal so they’d understand my displeasure. They, however, seemed absurdly happy about the whole thing. Bizarre.
On the upside, Dr. Olivia was actually very kind, and my humans assure me this was all for my own good. And, well, when we got home, I started getting new delicious food, so I suppose I can forgive this violation of my personal space. For now.

I had an incredible experience here when I needed to take my cat in urgently due to an absess. All of the staff were welcoming and extremely kind and considerate. Due to being a solo māmā having unexpected vet costs were not in my budget the staff were so kind and understanding and we worked out a manageable way for me to afford treatment for my cat. They went ABOVE AND beyond to help myself, cat and toddler feel at ease during our entire visit and gave me alot of education and advice that I found very helpful. I will be going to this vets from now on as the service and kindness I recieved made the really upsetting experience of my cat being unwell so much better, Thank you to the team for your kindness! Honestly, you made me feel so seen, heard, understood, and cared for! It was the best vet experience i have had! Adelaide says, “Thank you” for looking after her so well!

All my anxiety and worries were eased as soon as I walked into reception. I was greeted by welcoming, friendly reception and attended to promptly. They have cool little cubby holes for you to put anxious or scared animals in to help them stay calm whilst waiting.
Dr Olivia is an amazing vet. She was very thorough in examination of my three rats, answered all my questions and gave such great advice. She is great with communication and handling the rats, even my most anxious rat was very chill because she is so gentle.
I am very glad to have my rats cared for by the best exotic clinic. I definitely recommend Pet Doctors St Luke’s for all your fur babies.

DR Allen Yang and his team are absolutely amazing! They are knowledgeable, friendly, and compassionate. Their expertise with exotic animals is outstanding. I’ve brought my rabbits and birds here, and I always feel confident that they’re in the best hands. I will continue to come here for my exotic pets—highly recommended!

The team at St Luke’s preformed a very high risk surgery at my request on my five year old cockatiel, Meep. The team were extremely attentive and focused not only on Meep’s health but my wellbeing as her owner.
Dr Linda Yang and the incredible team performed surgery for over 4 HOURS to remove 38 grams of deformed egg material from my birds abdomen.
That is HALF my birds body weight and they removed it in a 28-30 degree room with NO breaks on this tiny bloody bird WITHOUT harming her organs or severing her lil arteries and honestly I am still blown away by how they managed to do it.
I went from ‘Oh she’s going to die’ to ‘Holy shit she’s alive’ to ‘Omg she’s doing great?!’ And every hour I’m pinching myself because, like- how? My bird is at home recovering and back to her normal chirpy self.
Dr Linda has magic hands. Dr Olivia is a legend. The nurses are angels and I’m pretty sure I’m in love with the receptionist now.

The staff are knowledgeable, professional and empathetic. I was in and out with my bunny since about October last year. He had an amputation to remove a cancerous lump and then a heart attack and they brought him back. The monitoring of him was above and beyond. Unfortunately on Friday we found out it had spread and he was dying. They kept him alive long enough for me to come and say my goodbyes to him and putting him to sleep was so peaceful. They even wrapped him up beautifully to take him home and gave a little keepsake. I’ve never met a vet practice that cared so much about their clients and if I could give a 10 our of 5 I would. Keep up the amazing work you all do

We sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved dog Nala last night, but we want to sincerely thank the team at Lynfield Vets for the care, compassion, and support they’ve shown — not just during this difficult time, but over many years.
Dr Lachlan went above and beyond in trying to help Nala through a very sudden health crisis. He kept us fully updated, explained every step with honesty and empathy, and gently supported us through the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully. You could tell he truly cared, even in the hardest part of his job.
We’ve also had amazing support over the years from Teresa, other vets, and the lovely reception staff — all of whom clearly love animals and treat them like family. While veterinary care is their profession, the way they treated Nala showed it’s also their passion.
Even though this was one of the hardest days of our lives, we’re incredibly grateful for the way the team cared for our girl. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for vets who combine skill with genuine compassion. Thank you, team.

Great first impression of this clinic! From the moment I emailed, the staff were incredibly friendly and efficient. When you enter the clinic there is a relaxed atmosphere. The staff were warm and personable, and the vet was not only knowledgeable but also genuinely caring. They even offered to perform the necessary surgery the same day which was a pleasant surprise. I really appreciated the transparency about costs and the entire process – they explained everything clearly without making me feel pressured. It was obvious that their priority was the best outcome for my little guy. I highly recommend this clinic if you are looking for professional, compassionate, and efficient care.

I made a phone appointment for a kitten’s checkup and vaccination, and also to get my other cat vaccinated during the same visit. I was quoted a price over the phone and confirmed it multiple times to ensure I brought the right amount with me.
After the appointment, I was surprised to see the bill was over $100 more than what I was told. I questioned it politely before paying and explained that I had confirmed the quote just the day before. The receptionist said the person I spoke to had given me the wrong pricing.
I told them I didn’t bring extra money because I had only budgeted for the quoted amount. The receptionist was kind and understanding, and she called her supervisor and passed the phone to me.
Up until this point, I had been completely calm and respectful. But the woman on the phone immediately started yelling at me, demanding to know what my “problem” was, and then cut me off before I could respond. She told me to leave, not to come back, and said I wasn’t allowed to pay for my cat’s medication. She even said, “Because of you, the owner’s family won’t be able to afford things,” as if I was somehow personally harming them.
At no point did I refuse to pay. I simply wanted to pay the amount I had been quoted.
I’ve never experienced such unprofessional behavior in a veterinary setting. How someone like that is in a managerial position is beyond me. Honestly, I should have walked out without paying at all, as she shouted at me to do, because I don’t believe in supporting a business that treats clients like this.
Eventually, after I repeatedly said I was just trying to pay what I was originally told, she agreed to let me do that—but still told me never to return. I asked the clearly shocked receptionist to charge me the quoted amount so I could get my kitten’s medication and leave.

Cannot rate these guys highly enough (would give more stars). Helpful, kind, compassionate & empathetic. Thankyou for making a sad time with the passing of my Wally more bearable (the Vet was awesome) & also the Receptionists assisting my friend with her scratched arm. Common services include routine check-ups, vaccinations, diagnostic testing, surgery, and emergency care. Many veterinarians also provide preventative care advice, nutrition counseling, and behavioral consultations to help pet owners maintain their pets' health.
How can I find a good veterinarian in Auckland?
Finding a good veterinarian in Auckland can be accomplished through various means. Asking for referrals from friends, family, or local pet owners can provide valuable recommendations. Additionally, online reviews and ratings on platforms like Google or social media can help gauge the reputation of a veterinarian. It is also beneficial to visit several clinics to assess their facilities and meet the staff before making a decision.
What should I expect during a veterinary visit?
During a veterinary visit, you can expect a thorough examination of your pet. The veterinarian will check your pet's weight, temperature, and overall condition. They may ask you questions about your pet's diet, behavior, and any health issues you have noticed. Depending on the reason for the visit, additional tests or treatments may be recommended.
How often should I take my pet to the veterinarian?
It is generally recommended that pets have a veterinary check-up at least once a year. However, puppies and kittens may require more frequent visits for vaccinations and developmental checks. Senior pets or those with existing health conditions may need biannual or more frequent visits to monitor their health closely. Always consult with your veterinarian for personalized recommendations based on your pet's needs.
What vaccinations does my pet need?
The vaccinations required for your pet will depend on factors such as their species, age, and lifestyle. Common vaccinations for dogs include distemper, parvovirus, rabies, and kennel cough. For cats, essential vaccinations typically include feline herpesvirus, calicivirus, and rabies. Your veterinarian will provide a tailored vaccination schedule based on your pet’s individual circumstances.
What should I do in case of a pet emergency?
In the event of a pet emergency, it is crucial to remain calm and act quickly. If you believe your pet requires immediate attention, contact your veterinarian or an emergency veterinary clinic right away. Be prepared to provide information about your pet's condition, any symptoms you have observed, and any potential injuries or incidents that may have led to the emergency. It’s wise to have a list of emergency contacts readily available.
How can I help prevent health issues in my pet?
Preventing health issues in your pet involves a combination of proper nutrition, regular exercise, and routine veterinary care. Providing a balanced diet appropriate for your pet's age and breed is essential. Regular exercise helps maintain a healthy weight and prevents obesity-related problems. Additionally, keeping up with scheduled vaccinations and routine check-ups can catch potential health issues early on.
Are veterinarians in Auckland available for house calls?
Many veterinarians in Auckland offer house call services, particularly for pets that experience anxiety during travel or for owners who have difficulty getting to the clinic. House calls can provide a comfortable and stress-free environment for your pet. The cost of veterinary services in Auckland can vary widely based on the type of service, the veterinarian's experience, and the specific clinic. Routine check-ups may start at a relatively low fee, while surgeries or emergency care can be significantly more expensive.
