Not the first time it happened that the price went up in the 3 days between the reminder email and the delivery email and without any warning. The higher price was deducted without any mentioning! How can I trust you to not deduct whatever you see fit? I have now cancelled all autoship orders. Wanted to close my account, but the really nice customer lady only cancelled my credit card and autoship…well, I am not going to try again. You need to let customers know that you hiked up prices before you deduct it from our accounts!

Went in to look at dog toys and fish at 3pm, 3 very clearly dead fish were just floating around in separate tanks while no other customer were in the store and 3 staff were just having a chat at the counters. Extremely disappointing experience with Animates St Luke’s! I phoned to order two containers of fly larvae over a week before I needed them. I then followed up with phone calls over the following ten days and on at least two occasions was reassured that the fly larvae would be available on Friday or Saturday as arranged initially. And that I would receive a message notifying me they were ready for collection.
NO message and now, Saturday, when I phone, no fly larvae in stock.
Complete failure! Apologies but very very frustrating.
I would advise anyone not to believe a word you hear on the phone from Animates. They are totally unreliable!

This Animates is generally pretty quiet, so perfect if you’re looking at taking your dog for a wash there. I’d recommended purchasing the $99 yearly unlimited wash pass if you have a larger dog like ours instead of paying $10 per token for 10 mins. I’d give 5 stars but the dog wash area gets really smelly sometimes as not much airflow in there.

Really disappointed by this shop. First time walking in and came in with my partner to get a few new things for our 5month old puppy . I’m not one to really ask for help because I like to walk around and take my time . I did ask one lady at the counter to help around dental care and she gave me a few tips . I visited the store at 1:30 PM and stood at the counter ready to pay. There were two young women behind the counter, both on their phones, completely ignoring me. The store was empty — no other customers — so I’m not sure if they were blind or just chose to pretend I wasn’t there. I stood there for about five minutes without a single word or glance from either of them. What made it worse was that their calls were clearly casual chats with friends, not work-related. Then another customer walked in, also ready to check out, and one of the girls immediately hung up and helped her first — skipping over me entirely.
I don’t know what kind of management allows this kind of service, but it felt incredibly disrespectful, and honestly, made me question if there was an element of racial bias involved.

WONDERFUL, large store. Impressive wide & varied selection on pretty much anything you may need/want, with all types of quality brands on offer. Good price variety of everything you can think of that accomodates for all budgets The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and very happy to assist, even when I was in a mad rush the second time I shopped there & with only 5 mins to shop + with a specific yet still vague idea of each item I had listed to get Puppy set up. I had no idea where anything was or if it was in stock! I had a girl go above & beyond in assisting me personally to find everything both trips to the store that same day. Also, as an extra “wow that’s awesome customer service” bonus, the sales assistant remembered me from my 1st time in the store 2 days prior, so it was a nice touch to have someone already familiar with what I had and what I still needed to get etc.. made an impact as a shopper!! The 2nd trip was to grab some extras after the basics bought during the very first trip. We were trying to settle our brand new rescued puppy in at home, so my experience was, due to my own lack of planning, hectic, yet with the assistants help it went oh so smoothly & much less stressful! LOVE that pets are allowed in store. Our 5 month old puppy got to choose her own toy, which helped immensely as I spent 20mins stuck when trying to choose between 6 large durable, interesting, all different, fetch/snuggle/chew toys in my arms, puppy quite happily came over & went straight to one of the 6 I was holding, & signalled that, 1 in particular was her choice!! haha .. absolutely no hesitation,.. she knew exactly which one she wanted, so she happily carried it around in her mouth, then to the counter for me! haha . Also our puppy had not had a chance to socialise with other hoomans or dogs as of yet, aside from 2 grouchy neighbourhood ones barking at her, however, I had trained her on behaviour around other dogs and she got to have 5 happy interactions with friendly owners as well as gorgeous greetings with other older, though smaller dogs also out shopping, she also signalled which treats she wanted which made shopping for what she would love MUCH easier!! Another dog had a wee accident in one of the aisles, I was very impressed to see the accident being cleaned up thoroughly within about 3 mins of the incident happening. Staff are quite confident in making recommendations and not necessarily to upsell, which was a relief, as I much prefer a product with good reviews and popularity, over a product merely being more expensive, unless of course, it is justified.
**Wheelchair parking: None specifically that I could see, but all 3 times we visited at different times of the day, 1 weekday and 2 visits on weekend days though busy, we got parking right by the entrance.
