Well laid out grounds and hotel like Resthome with foyers and goldfish ponds and plantings. The cafe only opens at 10 am and is limited in its food selections. Very warm ambient temperature. Front desk is not well monitored.

My parents moved here a few years ago. Before he died my dad said it was like being on a perpetual vacation. The worries of home maintenance as they aged were negated, they felt safe and became part of a community with like minded neighbours. They remained active and independant in a self contained apartment. My mum still lives a full and active life there.

Our Ryman village Miriam Corban, Lincoln Rd. Henderson, was recently invited to the Edmund Hillary village for a Christmas lunch. A delicious meal, served up in their large restaurant. Management and staff went out their way to ensure that we invitees enjoyed ourselves, and the meal provided.
Thank you to all those involved, from those who were lucky to attend.

Yesterday we moved my father in law to the care centre & several years ago my mum in law was also there and had fabulous care.
After a difficult few weeks in Middlemore it was such a warm, welcoming and professional environment to come to. Many of the same staff who remembered us – I left yesterday knowing he would be safe and well cared for and with dignity.
Thank you Chantelle and all your team for making a difficult journey much more pleasant.

Mum lived at BM Village for many years before needing dementia care.Mum’s journey ended with palliative care in the hospital ward at BM Village & we were with Mum as the palliative care team cared for her & us ensuring we were comfortable & looked after as we held & supported Mum through her final journey. The team on Mum’s ward handled her so gently with love, care, dignity & respect right to the very end. Many BM workers who knew Mum came to visit her with words of love & support. If there was any issue or point of concern, it was handled swiftly by the Village Manager, the Resident Service Manager, the Clinical Manager, or the RN on duty ensuring that we were never in any distress during this very emotional time.Palliative care is a very fragile journey & I give credit where credit is due as we feel so grateful that Mum was able to stay in her room for the palliative care that she required & received.

My dad was adamant he wasn’t ever going into a retirement village. We got him to visit for a look, met with the delightful Rose, and he pushed us to move quickly to get signed up for one 2 days later! He’s LOVING it. He’s gone from not socialising much at his original house, to having lunch daily downstairs with other residents and happy hour drinks each week, going to concerts, joining in activities like Word games etc. He is in a serviced apartment. He is a fussy eater and likes quality food and LOVES the meals (pistachio crusted fresh salmon, stuffed chicken breasts, fish and chip Fridays etc). It’s taken a weight off us knowing He’s so well looked after and truly happy. Thank you Rose and the Rymans team!

This is a great home for retirement especially the independent apartments, plus you don’t have to change when you need more care as you can move to a serviced apartment and if required the rest home hopefully when or if you get to this stage in life. Overall the staff are fantastic, management sometimes leaves a bit to be desired but it is a large village. The facilities are really good although they could do with air conditioning throughout the complex especially in Auckland. There are great people living here, most love the place and make the most of their home, you’ll never please everyone.
When I want to move into a retirement lifestyle, it will be in a Ryman Village.

Given the research I did into retirement homes for my mother…it is true to say Ryman Healthcare do have the most Resident friendly contracts….they do tend to “walk the talk ” a lot more than most other villages do.
Thats not to say other villages aren’t good….you do need to shop around for what “feels” best for you…and then decide if the differences in the contracts, and there’s a few, …are going to be a problem.
Finally…I do work in the industry, but not for the Ryman group.

My father recently moved into Summerset By The Park.

He is extremely happy with the care he is receiving.
The staff are extremely professional and attentive to my fathers needs. They are genuinely great people, who give my father the best experience. Summerset By The Park has exceeded my expectations.

I also want to add that the Management of the department and facility have been extremely helpful and patient as we navigated Dad’s relocation. They are always available, always friendly, and have been fantastic stewards to our family.

Thank you.

Been to here to see my family friend’s grand father who lives in Summerset care center. All staff were really welcoming and his room&family room were clean. Everything seems well organized. I wish my grands can get a change to go in, once they need a care.

One more thing, It was happy to see the multi cultural staff in there, as an asian myself.

Summerset took on my mum as an ACC patient in the Hospital wing. She was transported directly from Hospital to this facility. Seven weeks into Mum’s recovery on a Monday we were told Mum needed to be out by Wednesday. Basically just kicked her out halfway through her recovery. The explanation was someone else is moving into this room on Thursday. Mum is at MetLife Care in Beachlands now. Beautiful facility. Turned out for the best in the end however no thanks to Summerset.

My parents have been here for seven years. They are very happy here and have made some wonderful friends. It is a very social village with lots of activities and happy hours.
My sister died of cancer four years ago and we had her staying at the Care Centre upstairs, for hospice care so she was close to my parents and could visit. The nursing staff were excellent and very compassionate and thoughtful towards her and our family. They really cared.
We have also just celebrated my father’s surprise 90th birthday last Sunday, and were allowed to use one of the main rooms. All the facilities were excellent and it was a fabulous place to have held it. A wonderful view over the park, where you can sit out on the balcony and just enjoy. It is really like a resort.
Gardening has been a bit tired at times with lack of staff but seems to have picked up now.
A fabulous place to stay; am considering staying there myself, but my age entry is getting a bit hard now, since it is now 70 years before you can enter.

Our mother was suffering from advanced COPD when she took up residence at Terrance Kenedy House just over a year ago
The amazing team welcomed her into the home providing a family environment of support, understanding and friendship.
I know working with people with these significant health issues that are not only a challenge in themselves but also affect the way these people react to the world and other people including the care givers and team. Our mother was no exception and even though she had her moments she did really appreciate all of the care and respect as well as the understanding she was shown every day.
Even though she had severe health issues that deteriorated over time, the amazing team of true professionals no matter what roles each person held always went the extra mile to enable residents to do the best they can even though these opportunities are not always taken up as people’s freedom of choice is in the forefront of their culture.
Communications are awesome and our mother and ourselves was always kept updated what was happening both physically and mentally. There was never a time that we felt uninformed and updated as well as providing the facts when decisions needed to be made and not sugar coating them.
The facility is kept very clean without any of the issues I have seen in other facilities. We also felt we could have open discussions and early interventions without prejudice. As with any place, it is never as good as home but is the next best thing.
The people and culture are so important, and the family orientated caring environment really makes this place special. Although our mother was too unwell to really enjoy most of the facilities and opportunities we could see there was still a lot on to keep residents engaged and entertained.
In the last few days, the team were all amazing showing her dignity, care, love and true respect even after she passed. Communication was open and honest, and they did an amazing job of keeping her as pain free and comfortable as possible. For this, they have our eternal thanks. This will be remembered by us always.
We will miss our visits and seeing their team as well as other residents but will remember them always.

Our dad spent a very happy seven months at TKH after mum passed away whilst they were living at GVP. When Lisa (TKH manager) & Debbie (clinical manager) personally came to escort dad arm in arm from his villa up to his new room we knew then how special this care home was & that dad was in safe hands. Within days dad had seamlessly integrated into life at TKH, he was very happy & quickly became a much loved member of the TKH family. We were treated like one of the family too & all the staff are the nicest, kindest & most caring people you would want to look after your family members.
We were impressed to receive regular updates by phone call, text or email on how dad was doing including nice photos as well as the monthly newsletter.
When it came time to say final goodbyes to dad all the staff on duty gathered in the foyer to pay their respects, leave flowers & share their stories about dad & how much they would all miss him. Debbie said it was an honour to have offered him palliative care. All of this was very touching. A huge thank you goes to everyone that cared for dad in such a loving way with a special mention to Lisa, Debbie, Sofia, Eva, Renee & Peter. We will be forever grateful of all the kindness & support that dad & our family received at Terence Kennedy House. Gary & Tracy Lockyear

What an Amazing Place! From Emmy and the Nurses, kitchen staff, cleaning staff, caregivers to Renee at reception and Lisa and Debbie in management even the residents were all so welcoming. They are so friendly, caring and treated mum with kindness and respect. They always greeted us with a smile. Lisa the Hospital Manager always kept me updated with mum and always answered emails and phone calls and answered all my questions. I live in Sydney so to get emails and phones calls answered in a timely manner was so great and kept me at ease.

Our elderly Mother has been at Terence Kennedy House for seven months now. After a period of settling in she has now accepted Terence Kennedy private hospital as her home. We have been very impressed with the care she is receiving, the staff are wonderful and our Mum interacts well with them. We also believe that when a facility like this one has a good manager, clinical manager, nursing staff and receptionist, which Terence Kennedy has, then the quality of care flows through the entire home. Peace of mind for families who have placed their loved ones into care is of great importance and we are very happy with Terence Kennedy as our choice.

Choosing Gracedale for our late Mum, Kalala (Clare) Ma Chee was the best decision we ever made. The Management, Nursing & indeed All the staff were all exceptional individuals, full of passion & commitment to always strive for the best for Mum (and their other Residents). Nothing was ever too much; the individual rooms & quality facilities were exceptionally clean & well maintained. For us, the quality of life & quality of care were paramount and this is why Mum so enjoyed the loving friends she made with both staff & residents alike. When Covid-19 struck, the Home was ready with effective protocols keeping everyone safe. Even the staff stayed lock-in, away from their own loved ones – now that was commitment. I spent a few precious moments saying good-bye to Mum as I rushed to catch the flight out of N.Z before lockdown. Little did I know that, that was also our last farewell. Thank you Everyone at Gracedale for all the care & love extended to all of us during Mum’s year’s in your care. God Bless you All.

Like all age care facilities, they only provide premium rooms in the Private hospital, but for someone who is bed bound, an ensuite is not needed or worth the extra money paid over and above funding. How to make money out of the aging population is what this comes down to.

Never have I ever been so disgusted in the behaviour of a respite home. First things first before I even begin to explain why my family cannot wait to get my grandfather out of there let me just begin by saying in New Zealand we have 3 offical languages Sign language, English and Te reo maori. That means that when the people in your care want to speak Maori THE LAST THING YOU SHOULD DO IS TELL THEM TO “shut up or speak English” what in the world is wrong with your carers.
Next the fact the the family were there to aid and look after him and your fabulous nurse thought it would be ok to shut the door in my aunties face. Your a respite care not a home. The way that your staff treat the people in your care is disgraceful and I’ll be making sure everyone I know hears about it.

Absolutely shocking
My grandmother was transferred here from middlemore for respite care
It look them 24hours to change her adult pull up
Her dinner came to her cold and asked them if they could heat it for her which they took it and never brought it back so had no food
Staff get grumpy if you ring the bell for help or get phone calls from family and punish the residence buy shutting there door or leaving there light on all night and dont check on you

Would never ever send my grandmother back here and will be laying a complaint with the ministry
This is abuse and its discusting

Came to support my fiancé, spent around $100 for two visits which is quite frustrating. At the first visit, we explained she was low on iron. The second visit, the doctor made us come all the way back just to confirm her iron levels were low and then prescribed iron supplements. This could have easily been done with a two-minute phone call or an email.

Also, both times there was no one else in the reception area, yet we waited 30 minutes before being seen. Disappointing, to be honest.

Dr Tony An is a very professional and takes good care of my medical needs. His staff and reception are great and always willing to go the extra mile. It is a good clinic with appointments aplenty so you don’t have to worry about missing an appointment as they close at 5pm. Highly recommended doctor.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Personally found this doctor to be ok, no real issue but my wife has had other experiences with my young baby.

She is a first time mum not knowing a lot with our son and often goes to get things checked.
Today she was told this rash is a heat rash on him, when she pushed further with some questions he said “I have other patients to see, look at him he is fine”.
Even telling her a few times “You are not answering my question” this gets repeated a few times even happened to me. However, the questions are being answered if he would listen.
Found this behavior disappointing in a doctor and rude.

We are not doctors, how can we possibly know every issue is not a major?
Very unhappy with his attitudes and would not recommend this doctor at all.

Thanks for your reply, but was not 30 minutes, we often wait much more than the booking time anyway but this I expect for a medical service and understand. However, we are not experts, we go to the doctor for expect advice, hence we pay you for this.
Never had this kind of experience in all the times I have ever seen a doctor and do not accept this at all as acceptable.

The lock-down puts a lot of strain on daily life, but the staff and doctor at New Windsor Medical Centre provide services to aid out at such difficult times, making life a lot easier. The receptionists are friendly and helpful, and the doctor is experienced. The first telephone consultation encounter went nicely. Thank you to everyone at New Windsor Medical Centre.

I recently registered at this practice and I regret it. The services listed on the website isn’t what they actually offer (which is why I registered in the first place). I have also been waiting for over almost two weeks to hear back about an ACC claim (I followed up twice and was told I would get a call back the same day which I didn’t). I’ve just given up at this point.
