I generally don’t have any issues with this store. They are usually great, and even though there was a description error in a refurb monitor I got the other day it doesn’t worry me too much because accidents happen. However, I have some feedback for you to consider.
Having returns processed at the same counter as tech repairs is very impractical and inefficient. I queued up behind 3 customers waiting in line for repairs and 1 being served, I waited, and waited to return my unopened item. Each repair customer takes 10+ minutes because they need to explain faults, get diagnostics, log the job etc. I was needing to get to another appointment so after about 25 minutes I eventually gave up and went to collect my other order. While there, I asked the person at the pickup/sales desk if I could return the product there instead, since there were three staff members there who weren’t busy at the time. Rather than her doing it, she pushed me ahead of the two others who were still waiting at the repair counter. (Which isn’t fair to them either because they had also been waiting).
In the end, my return and order pickup took approx. 2 minutes. Had I not mentioned anything I would’ve easily been waiting 40+ minutes just to be seen for something that clearly didn’t need to take that long. I’d suggest rethinking how returns are handled as the current setup just does not make any sense especially when you have plenty of staff on hand that could be helping.

★☆☆☆☆ Should be Zero Stars – Worst customer experience I’ve had with a tech retailer
I ordered a refurbished LG monitor from PB Tech. They sent the wrong, lower-spec model. I contacted them immediately, but spent over a month chasing a response, with repeated delays and no proactive communication.
During this time, the correct model (albeit the brand-new, not refurbished version) went on sale. I didn’t buy it at the discounted price, as I was still hopeful that PB Tech would resolve the issue and supply the unit I had purchased. Due to their lack of response, I missed that opportunity. When they finally replied, they refused to honour the sale price, despite the delay and the fault being entirely theirs.
They failed to respond to multiple emails, prematurely closed the case without resolution, and only responded in a timely manner after I followed up with a phone call — twice.
In the end, they offered a refund, but only after wasting hours of my time and leaving me without the product I paid for.
Zero accountability. Zero goodwill. Avoid them if you value your time or customer service.

Really bad service at PB Tech, only hard carried by their slightly better prices. Asked multiple staff for help with getting an invoice done to make a purchase on an item, the staff i asked didn’t know how to do it, nor did they know who could help then walked off, I was left standing around like an idiot looking around for someone else who could help, the only good staff there is Mike Tran, he knows what he is doing. He’s helped me a few times and every time the service was the best, he deserves a raise for his execellent customer service. He’s the only one who is actually helpful and knows how to do an invoice, too bad he wasn’t working today. I also wanted to buy an S25 Ultra. I would have returned when Mike is back at work to buy the phone and get the invoice, but after today, screw PB Tech and their useless staff/Customer service, ended up walking out today and i’ll just pay the little bit extra at a competitor. Maybe next visit it’ll be better.

I have always trusted PB Tech for all my gadgets, but this recent experience was really disappointing. I ordered a battery online with an ETA of 1 month, expecting it to arrive within that time. However, the ETA kept changing, five times, and it dragged on to almost 3 months. When I called customer service, they told me the new ETA wasn’t guaranteed either and suggested I cancel the order. I agreed, but there was no apology, and the staff were quite rude. Be aware when ordering online — this was a very frustrating experience.

This is your go to place for any computer related stuff. The collection is huge. You will literally find any type of the cable you are looking for. The staff on the floor is helpful when you approach them and ask for help. They are so busy that they don’t have time to proactively ask you if you need any help.
The concern is the front line staff which need bit of improvement in dealing with customers and need to be courteous. The annoyance on their face is visible if you ask them anything other than paying for your items. A smile would go a long way to attract customers.
The specials are good. Very handy to where I am located. The parking lot is huge.

JB Hi-FI has exclusive rights to sell these so if you want one you have to order it through them. 10 days after ordering I chased them up as I had heard nothing. All of a sudden I get a “Your order is on the way” Eta 5 September!!!! that would be almost 3 months for me to recieve what I ordered. Who would think that is acceptable. Before going to NZ Electronics, I went to other repair companies. I paid a great deal of money and was told I will need a new part which they don’t have and that it would be quite expensive to fix. After waiting for about two months, I was told that the part was on back order and they had no idea when or if they will ever get it.
I eventually went to NZ Electronics and within three hours, my laptop was fixed.
Despite spending much more time than estimated, they did not charge me any more money despite me insisting to pay them for their extra time.
I would highly recommend NZ Electronics and will definitely go their first for any repair in the future.

I just want to take a moment to thank Mr Minh for helping me buy a new phone. I was actually the very first customer to arrive at 9:00 AM, right when the store opened.
When I walked in, I saw all the staff members busy with their morning routine, like stocking up. Despite that, I approached Mr.Minh and requested his help since I had to be at work by 9:30 AM. Without hesitation, he immediately stopped what he was doing and assisted me as quickly as possible. Thanks to him, I bought my phone and made it to work on time—truly impressive!

I’m very disappointed with my experience at Harvey Norman regarding the setup of a companion mobile plan with 1NZ.
When I arrived in New Zealand, I registered my main phone number directly at the airport. A few days later, I visited the Harvey Norman store and explained that I only needed one companion plan. I was informed that the official promotion was for two companion plans with a 50% discount, but I made it very clear that I only wanted one. The store manager assured me that it was fine and that they would create only one discounted companion plan for me. I even asked them to confirm this before proceeding.
Despite this, I was later shocked to discover that two companion plans had been activated on my account. I then had to spend a lot of time calling customer service, filling out forms, trying to cancel the extra plan, and sorting out the billing — all of which took significant time and energy.
This experience has been extremely frustrating. I came to New Zealand to enjoy my time, which is limited, and I have many other responsibilities. I never expected to spend so much time dealing with a cancellation process for something I explicitly said I didn’t want.
Looking back, I really regret not signing up for the companion plan directly at a 1NZ store, where the process would likely have been much clearer and easier. This situation caused unnecessary stress and disrupted what was supposed to be a smooth and enjoyable visit.
I cannot recommend arranging mobile plans through Harvey Norman after this experience. It simply wasn’t worth the hassle.

Bought a laptop, keyboard wasn’t fully operational (some letters and numbers were not working on the keyboard).
Was offered replacement which I collected from the Manukau branch. Got home and the speaker was blown. Let them know and was told I could get a better model but would have to pick up from the Massey branch. So I drove out there and made the exchange.
The gentleman at the Massey branch tested the keyboard and speaker on site, and I left. The battery doesn’t last long, but I can accept that as the laptop is refurbished and I didn’t want to go though a third round of replacements.
The gentleman I spoke to on the Techcrazy helpline was very polite and apologetic about the rigmarole, so thank you for your great customer service.
Three stars for the overall experience.

Came here to look at the 16 inch MacBook Pro. Unfortunately both the 16 inch and the 14 inch were downloading a demo update and the progress was so slow, I couldn’t even see the bar move one pixel. Then the 15 inch MacBook Air needed a password. I asked the staff for help but they didn’t even know the password and weren’t really helpful. Another person came but he also left because no one was really bothering the help with the computers. I left as well because since the computers weren’t working I couldn’t do anything. It was a bit of a disappointing experience when I had previously bought something here and everything had gone well.

Not impressed with their “re stocking fee”. I accidentally bought the wrong product and brought it back for a store credit or refund. The box had been opened but only the seal broken, otherwise in perfect condition and unused. They charged me 20% restocking fee. The purchase price was $803.85 so they charged me $160.77 to put a new seal on the box! I took the refund instead of store credit as I felt ripped off. I would have been fine with a lesser restocking fee but $160.77 is exorbitant and totally unreasonable. I won’t shop at PB tech anymore as it has left a bad taste in my mouth.

Bought a insta 360 X4. Lens wasn’t sealed properly which was fine but brought back to get fixed under warranty. Was told it’d take 2-3 weeks.
Has now been 3 weeks and I am going on holiday and really wanted to have it (lens fixed or not, for scuba). E-mailed customer support last weekend and called the store everyday to try and get some info. Absolutely no reply, no communication.

I bought some expensive headphones from these guys online. I wasn’t happy with the product but when I tried to return them they told me there would be a 20% fee as if damaged the box. The box had already been opened prior to me getting them. I even contacted Sennheiser who told me all products are sealed and wrapped prior to leaving the factory. The product I received was definitely not that. I spent weeks trying to communicate with their customer support team who ignored me and would not answer my questions. A really terrible consumer experience. I was a regular customer but not anymore.

Really disappointed with the service I received at Noel Leeming St Lukes. The sales staff didn’t seem to know much about the products and were clearly more interested in pushing a sale than actually helping me find the right item. I ended up buying something based on their recommendation, only to realise later it wasn’t the right fit for my needs.
I had to go out of my way to visit the New Lynn store, where thankfully the staff were much more knowledgeable and actually took the time to help me properly. It’s a shame the service at St Lukes didn’t match the same standard.

The horrendous customer service I experienced at Warehouse St Lukes is being practiced religiously across all the other Warehouse Group stores like Noel Leeming. Countless times I’ve had nobody approach me for assistance despite at least half a dozen staff roaming the store. I really don’t care about customer service usually if I can get in and out promptly, but this store deserves an award for attaining an all time low standard for customer service.
